Yuffie Side Project - Which lighting?
Hello everybody!
Once again, I am a little distracted by a side project. I was playing around with these models by Memz which share the same rigs, and I realized I could share animations between them. I decided to make a short Yuffie animation using the Juno animation as a base.
Well, it's getting a bit longer and almost a 2-minute animation. I'm adding a little intro sequence. It's almost done in terms of animating, but the render will take around 100 hours or more. I'm gonna try to get it out this month though! I've been running into some technical issues, but I think I have them sorted.
I'm having a hard time deciding on the lighting for this particular shot of the intro, so let me know what you think! I hope you enjoy, and look forward to another teaser soon :)

The Left is overall better. The right is good lighting as like an alternate pov. But overall the left looks cleaner, smoother, and more realistic. Nobody has seethrough pink toes in the beaming sunlight. My opinion.

The first one, with the light coming from our left side. I prefer the highlight on the arm and body over highlighting the thigh. The second one brings the attention to the feet too much, which doesn't need more emphasis as it's already the closest thing thus its size already attracts a lot of attention.
Exactly. Even though I’m into feet, I’ve never really been a fan of shots that put too much focus on them.

Right... top shade + lower half sun highlight is much more mood setting than just shade to her left..
The left shows off her tummy more, but right shows off the thighs more. I’d say depends on what you want us to focus on more. I’d personally want left because toned tummy is my thing … 😅

The right picture has a contrast that highlights the legs and softens the upper body. The left picture looks harsh. Granted screens are different but the highlights look really blown on my device. I chose the right picture.
Is this the same yuffie animation you’ve been teasing or is it a brand new one? 👀

I really liked the right side but the i can't choose it because the light isnt hitting her entire upper body. She's out there relaxing outside. I choose the left one. As much as I like the right image, I need the left one.

thats a tough decision, also you might to do a poll to help tally the votes.... Also what is your rig? 100hrs seems long but im a complete Blender noob so i wouldnt know much about it anyways

I am quite torn. I feel like the first image gives her more definition to her musculature over her whole body and looks more like "natural" light. But as a photographer number two is tasty.

i think the left overall looks better, i like the shadow on the right on on the top half but i dont like the way her feet look
I see the right choice is winning but I'll share my opinion anyway. More light seems better for me and also she looks like sunbathing so I don't know why she would pick the shadow. If she's not sunbathing as such, well, it's okay to choose the right one, then.
Left. The light draws your eyes to the bit that's being highlighted. No shade on feet people but I'm more fond of the bits that are a little higher up.

Both are good, but I prefer the right one. Maybe because the sun shines strongly into your eye as a reflection on the left one.

Bro that's such a hard choice! Wtf. The left really livens up the whole scene and leaves Yufi with a realistic feeling lighting, but the right one shines her up real good and highlights her. Hmmmmmm.

I like the one on the legs more, but why not both? The sun does move from time to time. One on the right/light on legs is the start, and Yuffie goes back to relax after all the sessy stuff is done, and now the sun is on her other side.

Looks awesome, and a good Intro (and Outro) is always time well spent in my book as it adds so much to an animation.
First one highlights the model well but the second one looks much more natural and fitting of the scenery. I prefer the second one
