Capcom has implemented a whole bunch of protections to MH Wilds, the most notable one related to the mod manager is that they've added a strong layer of authentication to PAK files. Unfortunately, it's looking like modding the game without altering code in memory, which is no easy task thanks to absolutely overkill amount of anti-tamper Capcom is throwing at the game. Luckily, praydog (creator of RE Framework) has been able to update RE Framework to disable various checks the game does.

So, in order to mod the game you need to download and install RE Framework (this can be done entirely via Fluffy Mod Manager, but you can also download it from NexusMods or Github), enable the "loose file loader" feature inside RE Framework while the game is running, and then you can install mods via Fluffy Mod Manager (or another method if you so wish).

I've done a few changes to my mod manager to improve support for latest RE Engine titles. For instance, while modding DD2 and MH Wilds, it's now impossible to accidentally do PAK modifications (though you can still get the old behavior turning on "Allow PAK Modifications" in "Advanced Options" if you're a mod author and want to do funky experiments).

Change log:

  • PAK modification now isn't possible for Dragon's Dogma 2 and MH Wilds without toggling a switch in Advanced Options.

  • Removed FirstNatives download for MH Wilds and Dragon's Dogma 2 as it's not compatible with those games.

  • Fixed a bug that would make mod manager spam the message "Download interrupted" when failing to download a game logo or wallpaper.

  • Prevent PAK modification when installing mods for Monster Hunter Wilds.

  • Made it possible to download RE Framework for Monster Hunter Wilds.

  • Improved installation of RE Framework.

  • Tweaked a few warning messages.

  • Added mod managing support for Monster Hunter Wilds benchmark.
