Info on the new model

Hi Patrons,

Patreon is requesting creators switch to a consistent monthly rate over the per creation model.

What this means for you:

In short… nothing.

Patreon calculates the average amount and fixes it there. The upcoming monthly amounts will be around the same as they have been.

On average, I make two to four creations a month, so the calculation is averaging it at three.

In one month’s time (July 14th), you will ONLY be charged the new amount each month…

1 dollar per creation tier becomes 3 dollars per month, 3 per creation becomes 9 per month, etc…

And any payment cap you may have in place will remain, so no surprise charges in that capacity either.

Moving forward

I think you’ll agree, Dabchick should remain at the heart of this channel; He is the self proclaimed 'Short King' of short-form, and perfectly refined in his unrefined-ness. We have seen what he does when his status is threatened… so there’s a safety component to that decision too.

When it comes to long-form, I’ve sought only quality. If I couldn’t spare the time to make something great, I chose not to make it at all.

...Now, time spent on larger projects will be compensated more proportionately. I love creating and sharing things like my ghost story series, ‘When Darkness Knocks’, and creating them more consistently becomes possible under the new model.

Thank you!... and one more thing..

Finally, I want to express sincere gratitude to you all. YouTube ad revenue has plummeted universally in recent years, and it is only through your charity that I’ve been able to continue sharing my work with the world.

For this reason, I’d like to ask you folks specifically: What would you like to see more of on this channel?

Please leave suggestions below, and I’ll be present in this thread to field any questions you may have.

Many many thanks,

Barnaby
