Seven Sins System Chapter 896. Wrong Awakening I

Seven Sins System Chapter 896. Wrong Awakening I

For one second, nothing happened.

Then the entire coffin went insane.

The lid jumped hard enough to bend another metal band.

Black mist exploded from the seams, pouring across the floor like smoke with anger issues. The candles surrounding the platform extinguished all at once, and the cultists immediately started scrambling backward on hands and knees.

“My lord!”

“He awakens!”

“The great one—”

One cultist screamed when the coffin shifted half a meter across the stone platform.

I remained where I was.

Hands in my pockets.

Expression dead.

Honestly?

I was beginning to understand why holy warriors sealed this thing instead of killing it.

Not because it was powerful.

Maybe because it was annoying.

The demonic pressure rose.

Mortals would probably find it terrifying.

The temperature dropped. The walls groaned. Black shadows crawled along the ceiling, stretching into claw-like shapes. Several cultists dropped flat against the floor, trembling so hard their robes shook.

The coffin lid finally cracked.

A black hand punched through it.

Long fingers curled around the edge.

Then the entire lid flew upward.

-WHAM!

It embedded itself halfway into the ceiling.

The cultists screamed.

Something rose from inside. Slowly. Darkness formed the body first. Not normal flesh.

A humanoid shadow stretched upward, easily seven feet tall, shoulders unnaturally broad, arms hanging too low. Smoke rolled from its skin while two narrow horns curved backward from what should have been its head.

Its face was mostly empty. Just darkness. Then two red eyes opened.

The room seemed to shrink around it.

For mortals? Yeah. Menacing. Frightening.

The kind of thing that probably appeared in nightmares right before someone woke up screaming and decided religion was a good idea. It unfolded itself completely from the coffin, black claws scraping the sides.

One cultist sobbed.

Another pressed his forehead to the ground. “Our lord…”

The demon inhaled. Blood scent filled the room. Its aura swelled. “Who are—”

Then it looked at me.

Stopped.

Completely.

The black smoke rolling from its shoulders froze mid-curl. Its glowing eyes widened. Its claws slowly lowered.

I stared back.

Deadpan.

One second.

Two.

Three.

There was no fucking way it didn’t recognize me. Maybe not personally. But demons knew authority. They knew blood. They knew hierarchy the way wolves knew which predator owned the mountain.

And I wasn’t exactly subtle.

Crown Prince of the Shadow Realm.

Lord of Wrath.

Diablo’s son.

The thing that carried Wrath authority strong enough that even my idle presence made lesser demons want to either kneel or suddenly remember they had urgent business several countries away.

The coffin demon stared at my horns. Then my eyes. Then the tentacles behind me. One of those tentacles opened its mouth. Grinned. The demon’s red eyes moved back to mine.

I raised one eyebrow. “Well?”

Its monstrous posture changed. Shoulders lowered. Claws pulled closer to its body.

Then, with a voice about eight times softer than the one it had used five seconds earlier. “My apologies.”

The cultists lifted their heads.

The demon slowly backed toward the coffin. “I seem to have awakened at an inconvenient time.”

I stared.

It lowered one leg into the coffin. Then the other. “I will return to sleep.”

The bastard actually lay back down.

The black shadow folded awkwardly into the damaged coffin as if none of this had happened. One hand reached upward, searching for the lid. The lid was still embedded in the ceiling.

There was a pause.

The demon looked upward. Then at me, before it carefully pulled one broken piece of coffin wood over its face like a blanket.

I stared.

The cultists stared.

Even my tentacles stared.

“Seriously?”

The demon became perfectly still.

Pretending to sleep.

I could see the red glow of one eye through a crack in the wood.

My expression flattened. “You.” I walked closer. “No demon should still be staying in this realm.”

Silence.

“You’re one of the ones who managed to stay under detection after the separation.”

No response.

I stopped beside the coffin. “You didn’t register. You didn’t return. You let mortals feed you blood.”

The demon somehow became even more dead-looking.

Amazing.

Its cultists slowly glanced between us.

Their entire religion was collapsing in real time.

One whispered, “Is… is our lord asleep?”

Inside the coffin, the demon didn’t move.

The cultist looked devastated.

I leaned over the coffin. “I’m talking to you.”

No response.

One of my tentacles slid over my shoulder. Its eye narrowed. The demon continued pretending to be a corpse.

I sighed. “Fine.”

The tips of my tentacles changed.

Flesh hardened.

Edges sharpened.

Six black blades emerged with slow metallic whispers.

The cultists collectively recoiled.

The demon’s visible red eye closed. “Wake up.”

One blade pressed against the coffin. The ancient-looking wood immediately cracked.

“Last warning.”

The demon suddenly exploded upward.

One black claw shot toward my throat.

Fast.

I tilted my head.

The claws passed within an inch of my cheek.

At the same moment, another hand drove toward my chest, darkness condensing around its fingers.

I caught its wrist with one tentacle.

The mouth on that tentacle bit down.

The demon snarled.

Then kicked the coffin apart and launched itself backward.

Black mist flooded the chamber. The demon twisted inside the smoke.

For half a second I expected another attack.

Instead… It ran.

I stared.

Actually ran.

It hit the floor on all fours, transformed partially into shadow, and shot toward the corridor with the desperate speed of someone who had just discovered consequences.

The cultists watched their ancient lord sprint away from me.

One dropped his ceremonial knife.

I almost felt sorry for them.

The demon reached the doorway.

I snapped my fingers. “Shadow Space.”

Darkness exploded outward.

Space itself folded.

A black dome swallowed the room in a single heartbeat.

The cultists disappeared. Only two presences remained. Me and him.

The demon slammed directly into the inner wall of Shadow Space.

-BANG!

It bounced backward.

The poor bastard looked genuinely confused.

It turned.

Ran another direction.

Another wall.

“F*ck!”

I raised my eyebrow. “Oh, you know mortal profanity.”

The demon spun around. Its shadow-body stretched taller, claws extending. “Release me!”

I smiled. “No.”

“I have done nothing against the Crown!”
