[Move The Chains] | Play Sheet #3 | S01E01
So, this one's going to be a little different than the previous Play Sheet in that I'll be both talking about updates on the Move The Chains content and a bit of a personal update on my current living situation(s), which you might already be somewhat familiar with if you've been reading previous posts. We'll start with the latter and get that out of the way.
As some might already know, my roommate and I are/were basically extorted out of our current apartment based on a orange mold (not an actual mold) that had clearly existed long before we'd moved in. We get blamed for it, decide they need to tear down all the tile and replace the flooring in the bathroom. Lock us out of the bathroom a few days before Christmas, without allowing a third-party to look at it, and proceeded to bill us the cost.
We're going to fight it (most likely in small claims), but if there's a bright side, it's not having an eviction on the record. We need to be out by the 31st of March. We've been slowly packing/disassembling things through March after we found an apartment fairly close by. Hence why MTC has taken a little longer than I'd like to get out there.
So, fast-forward to this afternoon, I'm checking my oil and I see my roommate's car pull up, but his girlfriend gets out. Turns out, he's in jail. Apparently, they got into an argument at a gas station and a tow truck driver saw it and decided he needed to call the cops and make up a lie that he hit her. Despite all evidence otherwise, they need to hold him for twelve hours, and that's assuming nothing else happens. So, that's fun. Not really a problem since there's still four days, but that's just more shit on the pile of stuff I already have to do.
Anyways, I say all that to say that I'll likely be most unavailable between March 31st and April 1st or possibly 2nd. So, that's really it for the personal update(s). I could go on a gigantic rant about all the gouging landlords are doing for apartments that would've rented for $500/month not even a few years ago, or how obnoxious the move-in fees are becoming. But this obviously ain't the place for it.
This will most likely serve as the final Play Sheet before S01E01's release:
- It's hard to give an accurate number right now seeing as there's a fair bit of spot-renders mixed in there, but I'm creeping up on 1,100 renders. It'll probably go down, but I doubt it'd be very far. Along with that, there's 23 or so animations (total, anywhere from four to five per scene - at least at a glance. Could be more.), with likely two or three more to go. There'll be five or so more still renders to do after that, but that'll finish up the rendering process entirely.
- Writing is done, but very much rough in regard to spelling/structure. Some of the dialogue is a bit awkward, so that needs to be touched up.
- UI is effectively finished. Still have to add a few variable-based graphics, but that's basically finished.
- Following the animations and final few renders, there's still a chunk of postwork left to do. Tends to move pretty quickly when I get in a groove, though.
- Editing. Kinda self-explanatory.
- Audio + Music. Again, pretty self-explanatory. Not too sure how I'm going to approach the music, honestly. Still deciding between a couple looping tracks through the VN, or if they should be more situational.
- Proofreading + Proofreaders. Going to need at least a proofreader or two outside of myself. I already have someone ready to do it, provided they get over the Rona before I finish everything up (which they should). Will figure out I go about it once I get closer to release.
That's about it for this. Some preview renders above. More on a release date soon!
