The Future of We Were Just Kids.

I know what you're thinking, and no (more clickbait than anything else). We Were Just Kids isn't going on hiatus. It isn't going anywhere, nor is there any immediate plans to slow down. 0.3 is well on its way. Just some more rendering, editing, and postwork to do. This post is more concerning the upcoming Redux of 0.1 - and why it may end up taking a bit longer than some might expect.

The renders are obviously going to be changed out in place of higher quality ones. This includes a few character re-designs. Specifically, Veronica and Lukas's mother. Both need a touch up, honestly Lukas's mother is more or less the base model with no adjustments at all and hardly fits the character she's later revealed to be. More of a result of lack of experience/newness to Daz when she was made more than anything else. And the model of Veronica is just very lackluster overall.  There'll be some other minor changes in clothing, extra/side characters and of the sort.

The biggest changes coming in this update, and what'll likely demand some of that aforementioned time, are likely to be the re-writes. To be more specific, the sex scenes. While I'm on the fence of either remaking them entirely (in other locations, times, etc) or removing them entirely, I'm not sure yet. The entire park scene with Reagan/Female Protagonist feels very. . .contrived? Not really sure what the right word is here. Same goes for the bathroom scene with Lukas/Veronica, and this one in particular has been an absolute pain - and I repeat - pain in my ass.

Despite posting it basically everywhere but inside the VN, I still get people telling me I should remove Lukas as a protagonist. Lukas is not a main character. Is he an important one? Definitely. But not a protagonist. I get that this is on me, of course. I made it seem like he was a protagonist by giving him (and thus the player) a choice. Unfortunately, I sort of wrote myself into a corner with that scene. I can't exactly take the said choice out, but I can take out as much interactivity with that scene as possible - including the act itself - if need be. Honestly thinking about putting a small disclaimer at the beginning of the 0.3, as well.

As a small side note - I won't technically be releasing 0.1 (Redux) all at once. I'll be updating with about 150-250 in each one. The file names will likely look something like '0.3a, 0.3b, 0.3c, etc.'.

Just thought I'd give anyone interested/looking for updates a little clarity on what it'll entail.
