[We Were Just Kids] Progress Report - 8/1/2021
Shwmae, everyone!
First off, we've gotten a couple new Patreons since the last release (along with another on SubscribeStar, along with another pair on ByMeACoffee. The support is appreciated, so thank you. All right, so onto the beef of this report, I suppose.
- With the render I have running right now, I've just gone gone over a 100 renders as of today. No, I'm not releasing that small of an amount (the per release amount is realistically 400-ish renders, not including animations when they come, though the goal is 500.). All the preview renders shown have neither been compressed nor gone through post as of now. So any problems you may see with renders will largely be taken care when the release goes up.
- While it might seem like I'm a little low on that count, the reason for that is diving into lighting and trying to apply what I've learned. Hopefully there's some noticeable (for the better) change in them. I've also picked up the basics of animation (see previous post) and will try easing them into WWJK. We'll see on that front. So, yeah, I'm probably a bit behind, but for good reason. :)
- About a quarter of the script is written (been trying to get it in between rendering.), image titles are already placed and waiting. I've also added the option to give Lukas/Luke a name change, seeing as there's Luca, Lukas, and Luke all referred to in the first release. Not sure if that means you'll have to start over or not, though. Apologies if you do, but holding down CTRL should be enough to catch you back up.
- This release will focus a bit more on Logan and his background/relationships as I didn't do much of that in the first release, causing him to feel quite shallow and come off as bit of a self-destructive ass when there's a bit more to it than that.
- Along with focusing on Logan, a couple more characters that can and/or will (somewhat up to the viewer) play an integral role in the storyline will be introduced. Some hinted at in the first release and others not.
