Queen's Longbows

Today I bring you one of the first archers posed. We're thinking of placing them in two rows, with the first row kneeling and the second standing, ready to shoot.

Since they're elves, I don't think having too much variation in their poses would look very good, as it would seem disorganized. And precisely what we want to convey is discipline.

What do you think?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean.

I like the pose, only things that alarm me are the headdress/mask, which feels like it’s just floating without anything to hold it in place. Also where’s her backup weapon! She needs a sword or a knife for sure.

Regarding the topic of the knees, just so you know, both shooting positions are correct. One aims for greater stability, and the other for a greater range of fire, for example, when an enemy is moving. But don't worry, we've documented both uses, so you can relax :) https://www.revista-airelibre.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/foto-a.jpg https://www.revista-airelibre.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/foto-b.jpg Now we need to pose one archer standing up to adjust the positions of the two and make sure we don't have any collisions. And that will depend on the final position of the leg. We're more interested in this support because it will allow us to slightly shift the center of gravity outward, giving us probably more space for the archer in the second line. We also had this other option: https://www.revista-airelibre.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/portada.jpg But the 20mm bases don't allow it, even though it would have been the one we chose without this limitation. The man in the photos is Andres F. Verde, a 17-time champion of Argentina in traditional archery.

The third pose is really cool; I had seen that before in some fantasy art and assumed it was unrealistic, but it's nice to see that it can actually be used in real archery. I would be using these miniatures on 25mm round bases, so that wouldn't be a problem for me, but I can see how 20mm square would not fit at all.

I agree that there shouldn't be too much variation in the poses, for the elves to look organised. Different heads would be welcome, thanks.

Agree. However the knees look reversed for a kneeling shooter. 🤔

We've added flames to the tip of the arrow and two gems to the bow. No previous bow has these gems. We think the most elegant way to represent magic is to illuminate from the gems and the arrow. We could sculpt more exaggerated flames, but in my opinion, it's too destructive sculpturally .

Is the arrow not allready burning?

Wow! Looks great. Would love to see an enchanted arrow also ;)

I agree, military discipline works best for elves. Any chance of some …enchanted magical flaming bows/arrows option for these lovely ladies? ;)

Totally agree. Uniformity in pose. Few different heads to give some variety
