I really appreciate that you give us early WIP looks at what you're buildling. I hope you are open to criticism in addition to praise when you post something like this. I know this is early, but I am not a fan so far. Necromancers are not dead. They are living mortals who can raise the dead. They're also not armored, since they are essentially mages who practice necromancy. We have a both a dead torso and heavy plate armor... both of which I would contend do not belong on a necromancer model. This model appears to be some kind of kitbash between Sauron's limbs, a skeleton's torso, and an elf mage's head. None of the distinct elements seem to me like they belong together, and I know from the other work I've seen you guys do that you're capable of much thematically richer models that build excitement. If i were to call this anything I'd say it's a skeletal mage (with a living head for some reason), which is a neat idea but not one that I've seen ruleset for in most of the popular fantasy wargaming settings.
As I often say, each uni comes from a different place and each one has its own references. Necromancers are one thing, and undead necromancers are another. You have them in Warhammer 3th, 4th, 5th, or Kow, as well as many fan versions. Not to mention D&D. Nagash is an example. Armour we have lots of wizards with armour. Even in Warhammer that is not supposed to wear it, Teclis for example is depicted with it in most illustrations. I think any criticism is correct. Even a simple dislike. but think that there are more options than the obvious ones :)
Looking good, but to be honest, I don't dig the floaty hair. Kinda reminds me of an AoS vampire I'm not a huge fan of :S
I like where this is going.
