Fantastic! this is what I think of when I think of a Drake, for some reason in my head Drake usually would have the arms in the wings like you have sculpted and a traditional dragon would have four legs with wings. Another great sculpt!

Would look really good if the dragon had arms. I just don’t play any games that have drakes.

The limbs won't even change. It's a decision that was taken a long time ago, because we want undead dragons to have a lot of weight in our background. We need to be able to sculpt skeletons correctly, and with 6 limbs we can't do it.

+1 for arms and wings...now it's mole likely a Vyvern. Any possibility for the modification?

I prefer the realism approach of having the wings as arms. I think it just looks wierd in the picture due to the angle. The Dragon from the queens duty line is similar but appears normal to me

I am also for 4 limbs and wings but I guess it won't be changed anymore, but admire your modelling skills.

Cool model! The posture of the rider (and the helmet) looks a bit strange though. How tall/wide is the model going to be?

L
Last Sword Miniatures · February 7, 2022

The height is difficult to say yet. At this point it measures about 10cm to the rider and about 15cm to the highest wing approximately.

Four limbed plus wings dragon for the win for me but nice sculpt

Looking nice

I love the more svelte drake look vs a chunky quadruped dragon. Great work!

Saludos

Very nice, but I don't really like the hand holding a decapitated enemy's head; I don't know how others feel.

T
Tonny · February 5, 2022

It's not a decapitated head, but it's his helm. Imo a bit ackward position, that's why I hope that there will also be the option for a helmet variant.

really cool!

T
Tonny · February 5, 2022

Will there also be option with helmet on like you did with the General on horse (welcome pack)

Ita a wyvern, not a drake.

In the modern morphology of the Dragon, arms and wings are joined at the same extremity. This is what they do in the Hobbit or GOT. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/lotr/images/6/6a/%22And_do_you_now%3F%22.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20210913160938 The wyvern has only wings, without arms-hans. https://www.seresmitologicos.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/wyvern.jpg For the hobbit many studies were made of how would be the anatomy of a dragon with four limbs and wings, but they do not work anatomically. The problem is that there is no vertebrate with 6 limbs, and there is no way to articulate them in a realistic way. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/lotr/images/4/40/Smaug_Pgs22_23Z.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140301202437 On the other hand for the four-limbed bat you can use the bat as a reference.

How does he compare size wise with the Elf hero on griffon?

Muy buena pinta!! Me gusta mucho esa pose.

L
Last Sword Miniatures · February 5, 2022

N
NachoGuerrero · February 5, 2022

Oh guys, there's no need of that, it's a sculptor choice. 😉 Mine is only a personal point of view. 😉

N
NachoGuerrero · February 5, 2022

Wonderful, but where are the drake's arms? 😅
