November

Well, here we have the compilation of the month.

This month may not be the highest in terms of numbers but in terms of quality I think we have achieved many very interesting and new pieces.

I know that right now there are some unanswered private messages. We are a bit overloaded of the kickstarter. I hope tomorrow I can catch up with everyone.

I'll start working on the supports so they will be ready on the 15th. Did you find the last month's ones more comfortable?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Will you be updating your site to sell the previous Lizardmen releases? Some of the available physical purchases don't have a digital release.

Witches in the Attic · November 20, 2021

Where are is the link to the advertised 9$ miniatures. Also, is there a Patreon discount I am missing?

L
Last Sword Miniatures · November 21, 2021

This is the price we charge - to that Patreon adds the tax of your region. Which is different in each case.

We have had some problems with some thicknesses. I hope to be able to upload them this afternoon.

These look great, can't wait to print them :) I would love to see some Highborn Elven Cavalry, maybe some Knights of Ryma for 9th age. Will you be looking to make more "Tree Kin" units through patreon, or will you do another kick starter to finish them off?

L
Last Sword Miniatures · November 15, 2021

You will have an Elven cavalry in January almost certainly. The Tree kin have both possibilities. You may have a continuation through Patreon or you may have a second Kickstarter that will cover a large part of what is missing. Once we release it we'll ask you about it and see how we can fit it into our schedules.

Yes. Good to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. I don't have any problems with other Patreons that do pre supported miniatures. It's a shame because I love these sculpted and would like to print more without adding my own supports.

I think we have already explained this once. The supports we provide are designed for our printing system whose priority is to mark the miniatures as little as possible. They are the miniatures that we sell on the web and whose rating you can see.But they are supports that are printed in layers of 0.020. and whenever you send me screenshots of your settings you have layers of 0.050. A few months ago we offered you the possibility of hiring an external service to make simpler supports. They are supports that would have a cost. As they have in many other Patreon. A normal miniature costs 10-20 euros plus 2-3 for each extra piece. A standard month of ours costs 600-1200 euros for the support, and only 10% were interested in the last survey. Do the math yourselves. To cover that cost you need 240 patrons contributing 5 euros. And the survey only allows us to think of about 60. We have no other options in that respect. We give ours to you without requesting anything. The external ones we have to charge you, and you are far away from the figures needed to pay for them. This does not mean that we are still trying things to find an intermediate system that meets the needs of everyone. But I need answers regarding the last system I used.

Well I always need to add support to your Minis because they seems to fail often. Also the Human mage in your store was impossible to print for now matter what I tried to print the cane. So yes I wish for more stable pre supports. It took me the whole weekend to finally print the Reichsguard on horse properly.

I agree, the models need better supporting. I haven't managed a successful print of one of their pre-supported minis.

Hello guys, first I just want to say that I'm fan of your work, and I've followed you for a while now. I wanted to print some Sea Guards but could not do it since they are a lot of island in the pre-supported files. To be honest it is quite frustrating. Am I the only one struggling with printing Last Sword miniatures ?

L
Last Sword Miniatures · November 2, 2021

Hello David Any figure that has scales and that we support is going to have islands. Simply because we consider that in many cases the support is much more harmful to the figure than not supporting some points. It will also be common when there are two supports close together. Sometimes we prefer to lose one of them so that they do not join the points of the support. The sea guard in particular does not have a definitive support yet because we have to finish reviewing the hundreds of figures we have printed and see if there are small recurring faults. But look. Here you have literally dozens and dozens of prints with those supports. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qcxymbc78gjf9t7/guardia%20del%20mar.jpg?dl=0 I am concerned about the result in the figure, because these figures are then sold in physical. I don't think any brand makes a similar test. And this does not mean that we can not make mistakes. For example yesterday I modified the position of a reichguard knight banner because I didn't like the way it was separated. And anyone who asks me for the supports from now on of that figure, I will correct it. An island finder, it look for islands. But it does not have the capacity to decide if those islands are good or not. You have to do that with your experience. And sometimes it is true that I have inadvertently deleted some important support while removing other unnecessary ones. But we try that this kind of things don't get to you. And if it does, we will correct it as soon as we are aware of it. But we do a lot of testing.

Can't wait to print those balistas, well done to the sculptors and concept!
