Ideas for The Bannerman in 2027
As we get closer to the end of 2026, we're starting to think about our development calendar for next year. For The Bannerman, we want to hear your thoughts on where we take our fantasy range in 2027.
Our established elven ranges are nearing completion because there aren't many obvious things left to add. That said, we'd love to hear if you have any good ideas we might have missed.
Our plan is to continue developing the human kingdoms, filling in the missing options for the High Kingdom, Avernia and Leasir. We'd also like to continue our work on the undead elves, and turn our attention to new races and factions like the Warriors of Ash or orcs.
We want to know what you think. Which fantasy races would you like us to work on, and what specific units do you hope to see?
If you know any illustrators who might be interested in collaborating with us on the Dramatis Personae series, this is a great place to suggest them.
We will make similar posts for our other tiers, so please keep the comments on this thread focused on fantasy. Leave your suggestions below.

Leasir and warriors of ash seem to have the biggest gaps right now. I’d love to see more bloodline characters for the vampires, maybe a dip into vampire coast? I’d love to see some nautical undead. If looking at orcs, a khanate faction would be exciting. Anything eastern would be awesome as well, from Araby to Cathay. I also think some fallen lineage character options would be fun. I really want something inspired by Malus on his trusty steed Spite.
Warriors of ashes and more undead units
Warriors of the Ashes should definitely be a priority
Undead elves for sure. Undead elf archers archers are the core of any elf army. Undead dragon riders or rider. Undead elf knights.
I'd love to see how you would adapt the orcs. Also I am always happy with more humans.
For woodelfs, and it is mentioned in the fluff here and there, the court of the niads - Waterfall Palace of the Naiad Court - instead of dryads you make niads. It would give you an opportunity to do something water nymph/niad like that no other company has. (and people can run them as dryads). You could do characters in that setting too, a niad or two, and wood elfs with more of a water theme. Kislev; Horse archers, archers, rangers etc, that is probably one of the most beloved backgrounds too. Ice Queen, Snegurochka (magician), Ice/Royal Guard etc. I do think Warriors of ash needs an upgrade or fil out a bit, even if I don't pay them. Different New Dogs of War regiments, Dwarfs of course, but Arabia, Far East could be a good way to open up that region. Especially of you want to draw more from an India, Nepalese or Arab and Persian setting. Yes, Orcs and Gobbos are also missing, the question is what road you want to go down with them.
I’ve been looking over your work to see if I could offer some ideas. It’s true that some factions are really well-stocked while others—like the Undead, Dark Elves, etc.—fall a bit short; however, it’s hard to fill those gaps with just more skeletons or zombies, as that gets repetitive. What I haven’t seen is any multi-racial series of mercenaries, assassins, or whatever else you might come up with—though that’s really up to the creative team, who know more about this than I do. That’s all from me; sorry if anything isn't clear—blame the translator, since I don't speak English. Thanks, everyone.
No estaría mal ;)
Something desert human based, Araby for instance, Middle Eastern ottoman style.
For High Elves: Imperial Kindred - Medium cavalry (Silver Helms substitute), High Command (Phoenix King, King's banner, King's Guard), HE crew for Bireme ship.
Yes, more HighElves would be nice (Silverhelms,...!) 😁🤗
I would love to see you develop the undead elves further, as because of their uniqueness, you are kind of locked-in if you want to build an entire army of them. So bigger mounts, characters but also regular troops would be great. Also finishing out the wood elves with a few more character options and dioramas for regular troops would be appreciated. And last but not least, your lizardmen range could use some love!
Id like you to continue with the dwarfs and beastmen. The undead elfs are amazing, but you already have a great undead line, so i am not that enthusiastic about that one.
Would love to see a lamian (/ silver citadel) cult month. With a bunch of female vampires (courtesan, aristocrats). Maybe even a little squad of lower female agents.. something like a coven throne as center piece
Warriors of Ash for sure
More Beastmen please!! Keep expanding that catalogue, it is fantastic.
La línea de elfos oscuros podría tener alguna hechicera en pegaso, algún héroe con arma a dos manos en gélido, brujos a caballo, gladiadoras…
Chaos cultists would be great...with bows and two handweapons...as well as the cult Magister...from the New hordes of chaos list.
