First Look at August: Heavy Cossacks, Army Standard Bearer on Horse, and Norman Command Group on Foot
Welcome to our first preview for August! Here is an initial look at the miniatures we have been working on in the studio. This is the first of several progress updates we will share throughout the month, showing you how the sculpts are coming together.
The Bannerman: Heavy Cossacks and Army Standard Bearer on Horse
For our fantasy range, we put a lot of work into expanding the Eastern Host for Tsarstvo Leasir. The centerpiece of this batch is the Heavy Cossacks infantry.
To give you real flexibility on the table, we didn’t just include a few spare parts—we designed two complete builds for every single infantry miniature. You can assemble each figure either with a hand weapon and shield or equipped with a halberd.
Riding alongside the infantry is the Army Standard Bearer on Horse. He carries a large banner for your battle line, but we also designed the kit so you can assemble the rider as a hero for the Winged Hussars we released earlier.
The Adventurer: Norman Command Group on Foot
Over on our historical side, we are introducing the Norman Command Group on Foot. For this historical set, our focus remained on practical component assembly and historical equipment.
If you look closely at the renders, you will see the heads floating slightly away from the torsos. We separated them specifically to show where the head piece connects to the chainmail coif.
Because the join line follows the natural edge of the coif, you can swap heads between bodies while maintaining a clean fit on the assembled miniature.
These are early renders, and work continues in the studio. Which build or modular feature interests you most?
