Exploring AI-Painted Previews

We’re sharing this image as an example of AI-assisted paintover applied to a render.

Would it be useful if we present some miniatures with this kind of preview?

Thanks for your feedback.

I am not in favour of this, be wary of AI, It is becoming far to intrusive.

I’m against this

I’m against this. There’s a lot of people nowadays who baulk at anything AI touches, even if the use case is justified. I don’t think the benefits in presentation warrant the potential loss in consumer interest.

I would say no to AI, for various reasons, but o e of the most importants and relevants to you: AI would steal your designs, allowing other users to get them just because "the AI made it, not you", even if the design mase bythe AI is a clear plagiarism.

... and moreover, their environmental, privacy, copyright and ethical issues.

As long as we still get the base unpainted grey renders. That way we can clearly see the sculpt

As long as i can see the figure, contures etc as in right hand pic. Just dont start giving me a drawing or illustration of my figures.

As long as the base renders are still published and AI images are clearly marked as such for transparency, I see no issue with it. IMO, this kind of thing (complementing people's work rather than trying to replace it) is what AIs are good for.

Both is great.

So long as the quality is as good as this one, and you tell people when it’s AI or actually painted, i think it’s fine.

I like it and think it's a great idea.

Not a fan of AI, at all. I have no problem with greyscale, and anything you’d want to display in color I’d prefer to see five minutes in mspaint than that.

Even though it'd be a good idea, I prefer seeing it in gray. And I try to avoid using generative AIs

Only if you keep both the flat grey render and the AI colored one

I want to always see the grey renders particularly of the details. Also I have most of your sets and it makes it easier to compare them to each other, however, having some color pallet ideas would be helpful. So can we get a mix of both?

I think it's good addendum to the grey Render Pictures.

Great idea, it gives more depth to the sculpt and help us to read it better ☺️

I like it AI painted

As I am not able to imagine the renders painted - some ppl might be able to - it is helpful.

I think that it looks cool to get an idea of how it might look. The ai painting definitely is better than the unpainted renders. I'd prefer the minis to be painted by a person, however this simply isn't going to be possible for everything lastsword creates.

I don't want anything Ai related

I say no to AI

I second that, no AI

It's not as good as a painted miniature, but it's much better than nothing. It gives us a good idea of what the miniature looks like and allows you to see some details more clearly.
