February: Princedom of Tor Rufánë

As I mentioned, we accepted the challenge of giving the elves of the Princedom of Tor Rufánë a very Greco-Roman inspiration.

I don’t usually show you work this far in advance, but today is a special day, and I know many of you are eager to see the direction we’re taking.

As you can see, the armor is directly inspired by Greek linothoraxes, and it’s turning out much better than we expected. And that’s without even touching on the chapter of muscled cuirasses, which we’re reserving for characters and perhaps elite units.

I hope you like it!

I like the armour, it will still mix with my 'normal' elven fantasy models. The open boots may be a bit much, the elven toes are too historically correct for me.

I love it! It's refreshing seeing something different from the standard plate armour. Can't wait to see rest!

Me encanta todo aunque las orejas también creo que son muy grandes

Son parte del caso, aun no estoy seguro si las llevaran todos o algunos modelos.

Looks great! Although the ears look a bit to big.

The ears are part of the helmet's decoration.

Quite frankly they seem to have more of a Japanese appearance. Now it just so happens I'm on something of a Samurai kick at the moment, so I find this quite pleasing. Also Highlands Miniatures are in the middle of doing "Greek" High Elves at the moment if you are not aware.

It’s something we’ve noticed while modeling it. Greek armor is structurally very similar to Japanese armor. It’s a shared feeling.
