April: The Age of the Half-Breeds
This month, as you know, we returned to the Blood Moon tribe and its beastman warriors.
The goal was to complete the core of the army so that in the future, we could focus on the more heterogeneous and perhaps more interesting part.
First, we have the mongrel. Initially, we considered creating all the equipment options for this unit, but we realized it would be somewhat lackluster for a unit that will likely require several copies on the table.
Therefore, we decided to focus on the archers, seeking poses that allow them to be formed into a large unit or used in small groups of skirmish. Moreover, the extra time not spent on creating so many pieces allowed us to add the beastman dragging his food.
On the other hand, we have the Longhorns. This unit is elite infantry, so we thought it was important to represent them in their stature. They are taller than the generic beastmen from the first installment, and much larger than the small hybrids. However, they are still compatible in heads and arms with the first beastmen, so that the units can appear more heterogeneous.
Furthermore, we have created a mutant conversion kit. It consists of about fifteen pieces, which took a lot of work, so I would like to know your opinion on them. Is it worth it? It took up the slot of work for a character.
These pieces are designed to the size of the larger beastmen but can be scaled down for use with the mongrels or even many humans and elves.
We also have two characters.
On one hand, the battle standard bearer, with his enormous collection of trophies, and on the other, a mutant warlord, with his sinister twin inspired by one of our favorite science fiction movies :)
And finally, to conclude the month, a cyclops to head the army's monsters chapter. With two heads for you to choose from.
I hope you liked it, and I look forward to your feedback.

Thank you for the help! A quick question though: the welcome pack files are in the Download area, but not April's beastmen - should I download them from somewhere, or will they appear later on?
Sorry to bother you - another new member: do the files have to be downloaded by a certain time, or do you have a MMF connection that allows downloading at any time in the future?
New member here. I love Beastmen, hence the joining. Do these get sent to members this month or is this a webshop deal?

Super nice set . .but where's the draconic ogres? :D
I like the mutants. I can see alot of fun uses for them. I would like to see your take takes on trolls or the hill folk. I have gotten an few of your models before but this month I was like okay I have to support.
These look great. Beastmen mutants!!!
there very 80s old school but modern touch. those face take back in time.
love them there going to fit my custom silver tower mission
Great job. - The mutant stuff is not for me and will not hit my table BUT you did a good job sculpting the pieces. - I look forward to more mongrel units … seems as though most sets have a lot of elite units but are light on the regular units. Overall, another great month congratulations.
Not the best month for me also. To many chaos mutations and few bestie look hehe. Nevertheless I will check the mini at hand to see the result!
Personally, I don't like the mutant set as much, but that's probably because I didn't like the look of the GW Chaos Warrior set in general. The look just doesn't appeal to me personally. Apart from that, I think the minis are great and will definitely be printing them soon and taking them onto the battlefield. My favourite mini is the beast with its hunted prey...
That's what happens to me, and that's why I want to hear your opinions. To know how to guide future releases. Our DNA is very much rooted in history, and I'm not sure how far you want us to step out of our comfort zone.
Can we expect melee Mongrels in the future?
yes :)
The BSB ist a nice surprise, very cool kit!
Definitely a yes to the mutant conversion kit. I think it is a very thematic idea and with scaling it can be used in so many ways. If anything, I would like to see more options in a next beastmen release to create a beastmen force where the chaos mutations have progressed a bit further already.
Nice, the cyclops is phenomenal!
Great Job friends!!!
