My Message and FAQ For Everyone
A Message to All DA Fans
Hello to all the fans of DA. I've been putting off writing this post for a while, but now that the update is out, it feels like the right time. Fair warning — it's going to be a long one. I've tried to break it into clear sections and written it as an FAQ, so feel free to jump straight to whatever part is relevant to you.
But most importantly...
First and foremost, I want to start with an apology to all DA fans, old and new — especially those of you who've been following the game for a long time. I know the hiatus was disappointing, and I know a lot of you are sad that the old DA won't be continuing. All I can say is: my sincerest apologies to all of you. I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
Here's the FAQ.
---
Q: Why did you decide to leave and abandon old DA?
Firstly, some context. DA was the very first game I ever made. It's built in HS (Honey Select) — that's the cartoonish/anime art style you see in a lot of games. Lol, I genuinely had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to make a story-driven sandbox game, because I couldn't find one that did both well. Every option out there was either a sandbox with a terrible story, or a pure VN that was basically just a picture storybook. So I made DA to fill that gap.
DA blew up fast. At the time, it was the fastest-growing game out there — our growth rate was insane, hitting a huge level in under a year. But with that growth came a lot of pressure, a lot of expectations, and a flood of fans.
Honestly, I had no idea what to do with any of it. The code was unplanned, the story was unplanned, nothing about it made sense. I remember hating the game so much. But for some reason, the crazier it got, the more popular it became. And the fans got more rabid right along with it. They would constantly — and I mean constantly — pressure me for content, fetishes, or whatever "feedback" they had that day. Everyone wanted a piece of the story.
I got so worn down by it that I started churning out side stories just to keep them off my back. I refused to touch the main story, because that was the one thing I still felt was mine. But I hated the game. Every time I looked at DA, I didn't want to work on it. Every part of it felt like trash. Every update was a slog. It stopped feeling like my story. And yet — the weirdest part — the fanbase kept growing anyway.
I don't think people really understand what was happening at the time. It was so crazy. I'd get so pissed off that I'd throw out some random troll scene just out of spite, and people would still eat it up. It made zero sense to me. Like I would literally add some random event at some random freaking point and I don't even know how the game managed to even run.
At some point, there was one particular group of rabid fans — I remember the incident clearly. They came at me with some "feedback," and I was so fed up that I basically told them to get lost. That was the moment everything changed. Never insult someone with nothing but time on their hands, because time is exactly what they'll spend on you.
From that day on, it was nonstop harassment across multiple accounts, on every platform. They tried to get me banned everywhere, tried to get the game taken down. My Patreon got reported and reviewed three separate times. They made multiple accounts on forums, on Discord, anywhere they could, just to keep harassing me.
By that point, I hated the game and I despised the fans. And I told myself: I don't really need this money. I don't give a shit. This is my art, my work, I own it. If people are going to try to force my hand, fine — then nobody gets to play it at all. That was genuinely my mindset back then. So I disappeared into the sunset.
PS - And for the record — they're still around today. Doing everything they can to nuke my thread, spam one star ratings and if i ever go on steam, you can be sure, they will create multiple accounts to have it taken down. These are small pitiful people with nothing going on for them in their lives.
Anyone of you who's been around since the early days knows exactly who I'm talking about. After all these years, they're still at it. It's honestly a little sad when you think about it.

Q: Why did you decide to change the artwork!? I love HS!
Lol, believe me, I loved HS too. I spent years working on those characters — they mean more to me than anyone else. But there were a few things pushing me toward the change.
1. HS is a software product, and its assets aren't mine to own. That means I could never actually sell the game on Steam, itch.io, or any other platform — they could pull it down instantly if they wanted to. Sure, I could've done what other games do: finish the old game as-is and start a new title from scratch. But that just wasn't possible for me. My hatred for the old DA had already hit its boiling point.
2. There's a lot you can do in DAZ3D that you simply can't do in HS — model sculpting, shaping, locations, available assets, the list goes on. Since this is a public post I won't get into too much detail, but things like body shaping and pregnancy morphs are on a completely different level in DAZ3D. All I can say is, play the game and you'll see what I mean. It's a serious step up.
Believe me, I get it. Old HS has a sense of nostalgia to it — it hits different. And I know a lot of people are unhappy about the change. But give it a chance. I believe I made the right call, and I think you'll see the amount of effort and work that's gone into it.

Q: What were you doing during your hiatus?
Man, sorry to say, but this was honestly the best time of my life. Letting go of DA was one of the best things I ever did — for my mental health, for my well-being. I did a lot of self-exploration and met some genuinely great friends along the way. I also picked up a bunch of new skills and worked on a handful of different projects.
Skills you'll actually get to see in the new DA, by the way.
The friends I made during that time really opened my eyes — they showed me there are genuinely good people in this community. People who taught me new skills, shared tips and tricks, no competition, no gatekeeping. And I did the same for a few new devs in return.
Honestly, they're a big reason I'm back at all. A lot of them pushed me to return and finish what I started. It felt like a waste to let DA end the way it did. Don't let the haters win — and it's not even about the money at this point, it's about proving a point.
Think about it: after all their effort over the years, all those accounts, thousands of posts trying to tear DA down — imagine if we came back and just killed it anyway. That would be the best possible response to all of it. So that's exactly what we're going to do. We're bringing DA back, and we're going to make it hit harder than ever. I promise you that.
We're in for a wild ride.

Q: What are your plans for new DA?
My plans are simple: put out the story I want to write. This is my story, my game, my way.
If you don't like it, that's fine — go find another game you enjoy and support that one instead.
This is my game. Nobody forces me to do what they want. If those rabid fans want to challenge that, go ahead, come on. Do they think I'm afraid of them? Create as many accounts as you want, because that's all you're good for. That's all you can do. That's all your life amounts to.
Now, on a better note — this new DA is something I genuinely love. Something I enjoy making. It's the story I want to write, and I've never had more fun creating a piece of work. I think people will feel that when they play it. If you love the game, I truly believe players can feel it. They can feel the difference.
And with that said, I do have one real goal for DA: get into the top 10 most-supported Patreon games. If we miss that, it's okay — I'm sure we'll come close. We came close before, let's do it again. At the end of the day, what I really want is to make something I'm genuinely proud of. A work that's mine. That's all.

To All the Fans Who've Been Waiting
Since I've come back, the support on Patreon has been overwhelming. Thank you. I don't get to chat with most of you on Discord, but I know you're out there as quiet supporters, and I appreciate everything you do. When DA is finished, it'll be because of you.
I also want to give a special thank you to a specific group of people — you know who you are. Beyond Patreon support, you've given me a huge amount of moral support, and you've spent your own precious valuable time helping moderate and clean up Discord so the rest of us can hang out and talk without a bunch of bugs and noise getting in the way. You've also been managing our new X accounts and keeping the community running smoothly.
Please guys, if you all stumble upon one of the DA Modinators, send them a thank you. A big big thank you. Because believe me, if it's not for the core group of guys, I would have given up on DA.
Thank you so much, all of you. It's going to be a journey, but this time, let's walk it all the way to the end.
See you guys around!
Speed is my ENERGY!
Much Love

I stumbled upon this today and it made my day! i thought the game was dead and seeing its back with new energy makes me really happy! im excited for whats in store on the road ahead of us, happy to see you back man! :D
Ofc I'll miss the old style! but your story was honestly what kept my attention. I did the side quests sure, I liked it, and it's mainly because it's still work you put out. It wasn't always my cup of tea and it makes sense now that it wasn't entirely all your idea. It was fan service. which you still managed to execute pretty greatly. Stay strong, love your attitude you're taking on right now! I can't wait to see what you do and I'd love to see your story finally come to a conclusion!
are we, KIDDING?? Why?!? first stormside, and now DA, I just wanted a continuation of that goddamn couch scene.
Thank you for clarifying the reason why DA was abandoned. I'm fairly new to the game and loved it even when I'm not a big fan of cartoonish/anime art style games. But I found your original DA to be one of the best game of all cartoonish/anime art style games. I hope the haters do not deter you from completing this new version of DA. I love the style. It looks so real. Mina and Moon were my fav characters with Sophie coming a distant 3rd mainly because she was far too bitchy!! But I must tell you that I love the way she looks now and has become my new fav character even when she's still bitchy!...Her new looks make her bitchiness more bearable...Thank you for getting back and bringing the game back...and please ignore the haters. Don't let them get to you.
if it's any consolation i had followed DA since the first interpretation of the church investigation... though now i cant remember if that was during the convenient store bit or after or before... anyway anyway point is, it was a long long time ago and i LOVED it as the updates came up sadly i would have to wait for the public releases i just didnt have hardly any funds. but i was dedicated and like your saying i kind of ate it up. ALL OF IT, lol. i really enjoyed your creation. i wish i could had let you know then how much i enjoyed it, im not normally a person to tell someone how to make a story i mean it's your story. i was just having an amazing time even playing it. i could start to tell it was losing a little steam toward the end, though i did not know that was what you were dealing with. i am glad you decided to give it a cool off and kind of revamp it into a new creation. i wont say i wont miss some specific aspects of the OG game specifically with mia's situation i was really hoping to play that out even more. but i LOVE LOVE LOVE what you have done thus far. now i can afford to support. it's not a lot but i will give as much as i can to help you be able to do what you love. which in turn i will love, ;P and then it all boils down to this. you do what you can, as you can, knowing you are back has made my month so much better. no pressure cause obviously you still have a life to live to i dont expect you to spend every waking moment on this, but know i think you have an amazing talent and an amazing imagination. hope to see it progress to 100 this time. respect.
Happy your back and figured things out. Tbh the reason people liked whatever is the story hadn't matured or gotten far enough to understand the left and right of arc of what it was. Saying that therefore any new content people couldn't tell it was troll like or what was intended. So took to it with speculation and wonder how it fit in and how it would explain what was to follow. I remember playing it and unsure how it all worked but it was odd and interesting. Happy you will hopefully stick to your guns creating something you have thought of and are more passionate about. I was and am skeptical since your long depature but am happy your back and willing to put some faith back it. But yes please follow your will and story. Wish you the best.
I kept this page open, waiting and hoping. I'm glad you're back, and I am excited about the new format. It was the content I was playing. I will miss the old renders and style, but these new renders are great. I liked their animations, darker and gritter, and I really like the new layout, and formulation. It lays out mapping the gameverse, introducing it into a wider playable world. Excited.
I’ve been keeping an eye out ever since I heard about your comeback. At first, I couldn’t get used to the new art, but now it’s starting to grow on me. If the plot and art style are great, it’ll definitely make the top ten. Keep it up!
You wonder why the old one succeeded despite everything you did to randomize it, the fact of the matter is that no matter what you did, you did it. Even if it wasn't something you wrote up, it was something you had your hands in and that is what made it great. That is what kept us coming back despite everything. Never doubt yourself and who you are and what you do. You've been nothing but a wonderful friend and I wouldn't trade that for the world! No matter what you do in the future, do it the way you want to and it WILL succeed. You've already proven that time and again over and over.
I'm glad you came back. I kept my Patreon active just in case. The new art style looks amazing. The old HS style is all over the place. You have something truly unique. I'm also excited to see where you go with the story. Keep up the good work, and if you need another hiatus we'll understand.
Moolah, I have followed your game since the beginning, I am so proud of you, I Will always have a special place with the old HS style, but your new one looks so dope, I love all the work you do! If you need help with anything, discord, or trolling the haters let me know DA is one of my all time favorites and I will always support you and your work! So happy for you
The old DA was the first game I started tinkering with. (Just because it was fun.). I like the new direction, so keep it coming! Tell your story!!
Still nothing but love and respect for you! Im still here.
Happy to help and mod for you boss, look forward to the future of this project and beyond 🫡. We love this game and you. Im glad you made this post.
