Ted Lasso 4x09 FULL
I have no idea what to write here... I'm not okay...
I'll have the edited 4x08 episode up maybe tomorrow! And the edited episode for this one up next week. This is just the full episode for now and I literally watched it just 3 hours ago so you can have it ASAP 馃挏

Since you have the edited version up already I'm glad I get a double dose of Jules reactions today, one having just woken up and the other before I go to bed, especially given what Doctor Who episode is up this week (I'm sure I'm right about it this time!). I was shedding a few tears along with you at the end, especially given the tribute message to Anthony Head as well. Other than that, my main takeaway was realising how good Alice is at being deadpan in frustrating situations like Gemma getting a bit of a knock again.
Oh Alice, that's way too much Jules for anyone 馃槄 I'm so glad you enjoyed the double dose though. I had it edited so why not upload here 馃挏 Have a lovely rest of your week and there's hopefully the right episode of Doctor Who for you today 馃槄
With so much going on, let's not forget Shannon's goal! Probably my favorite moment of the series so far. From a kid that Ted sees showing up some boys in a park and who was one of the first locals to show him some respect, to scoring as a pro. Great story arc. R.I.P. Mae.
I am also very disappointed by the Zelda reveal. I truly thought they were doing something where the audience would have to examine why Zelda made them uncomfortable when it was revealed she was trying to help all along. All I can now think is that the reason behind it will be something unexpected / interesting. If it's that this is revenge for some incident where Rebecca didn't come to Zelda's party 20 years ago or something, that will be doubly disappointing.
Yeah, honestly... I don't know if I'm being too harsh. But I always thought Ted Lasso had clever and surprising stories and writing. The Zelda thing was too obvious, so it's left me disappointed that's what it actually was. Her character did just suddenly appear, and she WAS unusual and scorpion-like but as you said it would have been more interesting if it wasn't her and we then had to do a little soul searching to find out why we distrusted her for so long. As for her motives? She always seems to hate on men. Maybe she wants to bring down Richmond because of the popular men's team. Maybe it is something as silly as Rebecca annoying her in some silly way!
In regard to Mae (Annette Badlands) and her previous credits. I had wondered if you might recognize her, she played Margaret Blaine/ Blon Fel-Fotch the matriarch of the Slitheen family from the first series of Doctor Who. This was an excellent episode of Ted Lasso, giving us great joy, balance by great loss.
Someone mentioned she played a Slitheen a while ago and I'd forgotten about it but yes, she was indeed the Slitheen 馃ぃ Great joy and great loss. Very apt... It won't feel the same. I'm still sad.
Sorry this one was so rough. Focus on the positive of the Roy and Keely news. They will be incredible parents. The Mae scene at the end was so hard. But she lived a good life it seems and her last moments were filled with happiness. Sometimes that is the best we can hope for. She will be missed on the show though.
That is so true, Joe... She was very happy on her final day. I'm glad she got that as you're right, some people don't. Truly devastating. I will try and think of Roy and Keely instead. I'm so happy for them. It happened a bit quickly 馃槄 Hey, at least it's not another Jane Payne round two HAHA
