Doctor Who 12x03 Edited
Well, I always say I watch television to be entertained. And I was! Sometimes I like to look up the episode ratings to see what other people think, and apparently this one is not liked. It seems people didn't like the creatures, or that certain name repeated over and over.
Maybe I'm an odd duck, because I didn't think it was that bad! As always, I enjoyed the characters and what was going on and I didn't even think anything negative of that certain name being yelled over and over 馃槄
Ah well, I liked it!

When you watch something, you seem to go in with a perspective of appreciation and enjoyment, which is why I knew you would be able to appreciate and enjoy the 13th Doctor! I think the people who get down on this episode would be raving about it if it was "their" Doctor who said to us: "Humans. I think you forget how powerful you are. Lives change worlds. People can save planets or wreck them. That's the choice. Be the best of humanity. Or --" It sounds like something 12 would say, or 11 -- or any Doctor, really, right? I can hear it in all of the Doctor's voices!
See that's interesting, the main criticism I saw at the time of the episode was the planet of the apes style ending (it was earth all along! lol) and also people saying the Doctor's speech at the end was a bit preachy, but Doctor Who has always been about the issues so I think that's just more from the #NotMyDoctor crowd who would over critique Jodie's era for things other era's also did... But yeah like you say as an episode on its own it's fun, following Spyfall was never going to help its case though lol But yeah it's a decent episode, thought the Dregs looked pretty cool as well.
Surely having traveled with the Doc for a good amount of time now Graham should know by now that trouble is never usually far behind them. But it was nice to see them create the costumes for the creatures in this episodes as it kinda harked back to DW's low budget era's with the design they went for, as they are terrifying but also kind of hilarious 馃槀.
I loved the costumes as long as they were in the dark 馃ぃ
I had mostly forgotten what happened in this one, so it was interesting to revisit it in your reaction. It definitely could have been handled better anyway. It's notable that the Doctor is still not in the best shape after the last episode and seeing Gallifrey in flames. It would be nice to just see the Doctor and co have a quiet day off though it wouldn't make for much of an episode if nothing went wrong ;)
They need a spa day! Oh wait.... maybe not. Even spa days can go wrong 馃ぃ
Glad you enjoyed the episode Juliette. I didn't think much of it myself, but as they say, different strokes for different folks!
I didn't mind the BENNY thing at all 馃ぃ I was invested in their cute little story! I think I'm just either easily pleased, or FAR too positive and I need a good slap. I don't know why, I'm honestly barely sleeping, so I should be a miserable old cow 馃樁 I'm working with a CBTI therapist and currently in "sleep restriction mode" which is poo and hasn't worked yet!
