Doctor Who 11x10 Edited

Maybe it's just me, but series 11 seemed to go really quickly!

I enjoyed this episode, though part of me thought it didn't feel as epic as other series finales of Doctor Who I've seen. I still really loved it though, especially (of course) the drama with Graham and the Doctor.

I hope you enjoy, too!

Bit of a strange one S11. Love Jodies performance. Love Ryan and Yaz. Grahams the MVP 😂. However I think moving too 10 episodes a season was a terrible decision at the time. Standby it now 👍. Anyway can't wait for S12. We are so back 👏

10 episodes a season can be good if done well, less filler and more tight!

I like the poetic justice of Tim Shaw being put in stasis when he sought to put whole civilizations into stasis. (In the first episode, Tim Shaw explained that the people, the "trophies" that his people captured were kept in stasis, hovering on the cusp between life and death. I like that that is where Tim Shaw is now. Yes, this isn't the kindest option for him. Dead, he wouldn't have to contemplate what he did. And, as far as consequences go, it's nothing compared to what the 10th Doctor did to the "family of blood," for just one example. I think the planets were put in stasis along with their populations, so now they are returned and all released from stasis. People don't tend to comment on this, but I really like that the episode raised the idea of how a person's faith can be coopted by a tyrant or would-be king. The idea of faith has threaded through all of the episodes this season/series, and this is a different angle than is explored in previous episodes. What we believe and what we put our faith in have been such live questions in so many of the episodes. I also kind of like that this season finale didn't try to be "the greatest threat the Doctor has ever faced" -- The show tries to do that so often it gets to feeling a bit tired to me. I really like that it was simply a solid episode, a solid story of Doctor Who. It's nice to get some fireworks sometimes -- and the visual of Yaz silhouetted against the explosions and fire behind her was pretty nice! -- fireworks can get old sometimes, don't you think?

I love your comment about not trying to be the biggest disaster ever. That makes a lot of sense, and also brings an amount of realism to it. That's a good way of looking at it!!

You’re the third different reactor to describe this episode the same way lol. That as an episode it’s really good but just missing a slight ‘finale’ feel, I thinks it’s because usually series end with a two parter or it concludes with something/someone that is mentioned throughout which Tim Shaw isn’t so I think that’s why it misses that ‘finale’ vibe but as an episode I like it! I appreciate they really delved into Graham’s story, that conflict he has with the Doctor was needed to really sell that arc, but yeah I like this one even if like you say it’s just missing that finale vibe. Happy you’re enjoying the Jodie era!

Jodie is excellent!! I think sometimes she is let down by some questionable writing choices, but she is an excellent Doctor and is throwing all she can into the role. She is backed up by marvellous companions as well. As a whole, I'm really happy!

I really cannot take the Doctors pronunciation of "Tzim-Sha's" name seriously it cracks me up each time it's said throughout the episode lol, it just seems so silly to have a creature that looks like the Creeper from the movie Jeepers Creepers to be referred to as "Tim Shaw" by the Doc 😂

She has such a wonderful and cheeky sense of humour 🤣

This didn't really feel like a finale compared to all the others and its one I tend to forget about, being just a single episode and not really having any sort of story arc like we're used to. It does at least bookend the season with the return of Tzim Sha, and the stenza were also mentioned in passing in the second episode so they were at least meant as a sort of recurring villain for the season. I'm delighted to see you move to a second Doctor Who episode as I know that's something people have asked about since the start. That also means next week is going to be even more of a treat.

Two episodes of Doctor Who a week may only be temporary as I'm feeling I'd like to bring back a third show! I'm still not 100% but doing better than what I was 💜
