Doctor Who 11x09 Edited
Ooh, I loved the premise of this one from the get go. Doctor Who does creepy and unnerving very well. The whole story was so enjoyable, and I adored the very end scene.
It did turn slightly bizarre at one point, and that still makes me scratch my head, but I kinda love how weird it went.
Really good episode.
A little update: I've been considering adding back in the third show. I'm still not 100% but I'm doing okay. I've had a few people request This is Us and it's made me curious, but I'd also like to watch Friends as well. Do you have any thoughts about those two shows?

Really like this episode, and like you say only in Doctor Who can you get such a great episode mixed in with a frog conscience universe 馃槀 But yeah really good episode, the ending too with Ryan and Graham 馃ズ Also waiting on that episode about the Wooly rebellion! Make it happen!
The ending was perfect!! We've been waiting for ages, and it was so satisfying. I adore Graham. He is the BEST and BETTER not DIE!!!
I Think 'This is Us' is more "You" to the extent many of us knew why you'd click with Ted Lasso. Also, story arcs are thinner with Friends than This is Us, and your post episode reflection are richer for having story threads to theorise on.
Thank you, Eddie! I was hoping someone would comment about that. I'm thinking I might go for This is Us and bring a third show back in. And once Ted is finished, maybe Friends then!
I love how bizarre this one is wiling to get. It's so Doctor Who! As you say, no other show could do this. The shift in moods is so striking, from Nordic murder mystery to trippy, and the emotional journey is so moving. I was reading a little from the beginning of the Doctor Who Production Diary book covering the very beginning of the show, and one of the things that the producers of the show want is for the emphasis to be on the characters and the emotional stakes rather than on any special effects. And the effects in this one are so simple, but so effective. The mirror/solitract realm they literally just reverse the image -- you can tell not just from the Slayer t-shirt, but the Doctor's hair is parted on the other side and she uses the sonic with her left hand instead of her right, etc. And then the frog!! I love that frog. "It's a form that delights me," says the Solitract, and I hope that can be the attitude of us watching, too: Here is something to delight in! In lots of ways, this era of the show is a lot like classic Who.
I was NOT expecting that bizarre turn at the end haha but the more I think about it, the more I love it!
This is definitely one of the more interesting episodes of the season if not this entire era. It was a little different and bizarre in many ways, not least with the frog. I like it when the show takes a weird turn like that. It's amazing to think that you're near the end of this season so it'll be interesting to hear your thoughts about it.
It's been a bit of a mixed bag this season. I can see why people complained, but then it's not as bad as what I thought it would be, given how many negative comments about it I got! Every episode has been entertaining, and I love the characters!
Woah! I forgot the doctor finally added a wood setting to the sonic screwdriver, like honestly it's about time haha 馃ぃ but love the slight horror/supernatural vibe they went for in this episode.
