Doctor Who 11x02 (edited, no logo)

New TARDIS time!!! I personally think it's lovely... But I'd like to hear your thoughts!

I liked this episode. There's a lot of characters in Doctor Who now it seems, but I love our companions. Looking forward to their bonds forming stronger (HOPEFULLY) and more adventures with the Doc 馃グ

Enzo and Angstrom bested four thousand other contestants, so I'm thinking that Ilin knows pretty well by now what they are capable of and knows that he doesn't really have a choice. The title sequence really harkens back to the original classic Doctor Who opening titles, and the music does a great job of honoring the original theme, which was made with manipulated found sounds. And that bass drop at the end of the intro is so satisfying. So glad that you like the new TARDIS! I also appreciated how 13 was all about appreciating the change -- The previous Doctors seem to like to go on about how they don't like it when the TARDIS changes its design. The location shooting gives us a fresh landscape to take in, which I also appreciate. Wikipedia tells me the outdoors shots were done in South Africa. The "Closer Look" little feature about this episode is all about how the stuff in Epso's ship was shot (almost) in one long, uncut take, with the camera following the characters around and orbiting around them. I hadn't noticed that on my own, but it really is an impressive shot. All that Doctor-y language that Jodie had to remember, too!

At the time I did wonder if the whole series was going to be searching for the Tardis but in hindsight I'm glad they didn't do that cause a Doctor with no Tardis for that long would have been hard to do. Plus who doesn't love a good Tardis reveal! Although no one said the line though (it's bigger on the inside...) which is a mark down lol Saw someone once say Jodie was kind of like a female Matt Smith and I can kinda see it, but I do like her style! I liked the part where Ryan thinks he can take the robots out because he's played call of duty, because you know full well in real life so many guys would say the exact same thing lol

This was the episode that had my partner decide she was done with Doctor Who so it's always been a bad one in my head. I've never let the show go and I think there are some underrated gems in this era, but this is just an episode I've never cared for.

It's funny that you compared 13 to 10 as there's a comic book with 13 meeting 10 and Martha Jones during the events of "Blink". With Martha and 13 having a nice wee conversation about her being the doctor.

I was looking forward to your reaction to the new TARDIS, especially given your reaction to The Eleventh Hour where they also changed up the look both inside and outside. When this season first aired I wondered if we'd have a season-long arc of the Doctor trying to find the TARDIS though I also loved her reaction when she recognised it. It's also fun to see your thoughts on the new Doctor. The biscuits are called custard creams and they're Jodie Whittaker's favourite. The production team surprised her with a dispenser for them so her reaction in genuine. I hope you can understand her as even for a Brit her Yorkshire accent is very strong indeed and this is the first time since early in her career that she's been able to use it in full instead of toning it down or even having to use a different one altogether for her previous roles.

HAHA that was genuine, she didn't know?! That is so cute!! We have custard creams over here too. I don't eat a lot of bikkies anymore but I do love those ones. I can definitely understand her accent, though I didn't know she was from Yorkshire. There's only a few British accents I can't really understand . I love how it's her real voice 馃挏
