Arcane 2x09 Edited & Full

Well... Here we are at the end. It was a magnificent and beautiful story, amazing, and so heavy on the heart. I loved the characters and getting to know them, even if their outcomes were different to what I hoped.

My favourite times were back in the first 3 episodes... A family, together, and full of love. We found love by the end of our journey, which I am grateful for.

I spoke about this at the end of my outro, but it was a very heavy watch. I think I'll choose some lighter things for a little while. Doctor Who series 11 is on the cards to replace Arcane, and then I'm not sure what is to come after Dollhouse. I did toy with the idea of having 2 shows and 1 movie a week, as I've been too busy to do many movies recently. I've very much enjoyed my first tentative steps into music reaction, fully aware that the uploads won't be monetised but they are incredibly enjoyable to make and react to. But we shall see 💜

Thank you for your love, kind comments, and support during Arcane. I really hope you enjoyed!

Also I know the show was hard for you, but I am glad you did love it in the end (even if you want to steer clear from this type of mood for a bit.) If you want to stay in the action/adventure world but go for a feel good show instead, consider the One Piece live action. I can guarantee the main character of that show would consistently put a smile on your face.

I loved it the whole way through, Joe! It was beautifully done, stunning visually and had characters that I'll never forget 🥰

You are not the only one who thinks Jinx is still alive. There are a lot of signs that she is. You mentioned Catelyn looking at the tunnels at the end. Plus, the last shot of the show is an air ship flying off followed by Jinx writing. She had said she wanted to fly off in an airship someday. You mentioned why would she not come back, but in the last episode she left Vi saying that she deserves happiness and to be with Catelyn. Jinx probably would feel that she would just wreck things. I think the show runners left it open and have been cagey when asked about it. And even though there is no more Arcane, they have said they are making more shows in the league universal characters could show up in other series. Many may disagree with me, but I think it makes sense and works narratively that Jinx sadly did die. She had been putting herself in positions to end her life for the whole season and tried to do so several times. In the end she sacrificed herself to save her sister and went out holding what was left of her father. She went from sweet little sister, to assassin/terrorist, to freedom fighter/hero, and ended as the sweet sister. A truly amazing character and character arc. That being said, I would not be sad to see her pop up in the next show.

I think it really could work both ways! I love how open ended it is, and it's up to the viewer to decide what happened. I absolutely feel like I'm on the fence with this. It really could go either way, which makes it more exciting for me. Just that glimmer of hope at the end with Cait looking at the tunnels... Love it 💜

That tiny, broken, "please let me go"... Oh Jinx. Crying now. Betrayal, sacrifice, heartache, triumphant returns, tactical twists - this finale has it all. I love it.

Jinx has had the most incredible storyline. I loved watching her journey 💜

PART 2: And we’re back to Vi re-living her worst trauma – seeing Vander die, losing Jinx. When she looked at the seemingly dead Warwick and saw what he once was and how he died – my heart broke into a myriad of pieces for her...😭💔 Vander was her everything – a dad, a mentor, a role model, a protector – and in the end he became her kryptonite. She couldn’t just simply walk away without saying goodbye and mourning him, she loved him way too much…😭💔 It was such a tragic but at the same time wonderful way to end Jinx’ arc. She honored Isha one last time by doing exactly what Isha did – She sacrificed herself for the most important and most loved person in her life and she did willingly so, with a smile on her face, at peace with herself, fully knowing what she’s doing…💖😭❤️‍🔥 My absolutely one hundred percent most loved, most beautiful shot of the whole series is the last picture of the two sisters together. Little Vi and little Powder sleeping while holding hands around the bunny, after Vander tucked them in. You can put that picture in any encyclopedia to describe the word “innocence”. It shatters my heart every time I see it and I think of these little, already traumatized girls and what else fate has in store for them…🥺😭🙈💔 Amanda Overton said this was always going to be the last picture of the sisters together in this show, this image was their guiding light throughout the whole writing process and I completely understand why they held on to it so dearly…🥹 DETAIL: During the memorial on the bridge you can see Jayces mother putting a paper with his name into the bowl. The poor woman never knew how her son died…😥 DETAIL: At the same memorial you can see mother and daughter of the unnamed Zaunite father who volunteered and died…😥 I love that Sevika and the last standing old council member Shoola light the fire together. They’re making first cautious steps towards each other. Later we see them sitting side by side at the council and greeting each other friendly, while the other new council members are eying Sevika suspiciously. Even if it is still a long way to go, but the healing finally begins...😊 DETAIL: Sevika sits in the chair that belonged to Cassandra Kiramman. It is likely that Caitlyn gave her inherited seat in the council up to give Zaun a voice. And honestly, Sevika is the perfect spokesperson for Zaun. She actually has only the Zaunites interests at heart and is so loyal, you practically can't bribe her. Her arc closes with her making the step from the eternal number two to a real leader…😊 I’m glad you caught up on Jinx maybe being alive, but I want to point it out anyway. When you watch the explosion in slow-motion you can see a pink shimmer streak escape. Jinx leaves this kind of trace when she moves with shimmer-speed. Caitlyn researches the architectural design of the hexgate tower and her view lingers on the lower air duct vents. Jinx could easily escape through one of those, given that she knows Piltover/Zauns underworld like no one else. Caitlyn seems to think Jinx might have escaped. And I guess she told Vi about it, that would explain her calm and collected demeanor – otherwise Vi would have been much more upset about losing Jinx and Vander (again). It would also explain her question if Vi was still “in this fight”, meaning rebuilding and reconciling the two cities and protecting them. Caitlyn worries if Vi will go after Jinx, should she really be alive. The last and my most favorite hint by far is the airship in the end. Please remember Powders first words in the show: “One day, I’m gonna ride in one of those things.” The airship is the exact same ship (or type of ship) we saw flying over the kids heads in episode 1x1. I imagine Jinx being on that ship and breaking the cycle by leaving Zaun forever. 😊 So I am leaving this show like every great story: With mixed feelings or, to give you another german saying, I am leaving with a crying and a smiling eye. Sad that it ended, but so happy with how it ended…😍💖 I swear - never ever had me a show or a movie in such a chokehold. It's emotional intensity is unmatched and it's storytelling (especially the visual storytelling) is marvellous...😅😭🙈💖😊😄 I think the LOL warnings stem less from the game (multiplayer battle arena), but from the toxic behaviour of many players. At least that's what I've heard...🤔 Off-topic: I would love for you to watch "Friends" and now that I know your taste a little better, I think you will love it! 😍

Thank you SO much for your amazing comments! They have been so wonderful to read as you are so passionate about Arcane 🥰 I've learned a lot from you and your words! I bought the Friends box set last month so I wouldn't like to see it go to waste hehe and it's always been something I'd like to watch, but just never did. I'm going to have a think about it, if I want another show to replace Dollhouse or if I'd like to give myself a little break and do music for a bit in the place of Dollhouse 💜

Well, here we are - we finally made it. This show – and experiencing it with you – was a blast. 🤯😊 I must admit I was a little overwhelmed after my first watch, too...🙈 PART 1: Can we talk about Ambessa for a moment? What a cool badass woman. She went through the enforcers with her chain-blades like a scythe through a wheat field. She and Silco were such different and yet great villains in this story. Most movies don’t even have one such wonderfully written villain, this story has two. Viktor is less a villain and more like an antagonist. For me Jinx isn't the villain anymore I once thought her to be. Jinx is the tragic anti-hero. Not directly a villain but the most evil person for me is Singed. He is morally flexible and uses everything and everyone to get what he wants. He played his cards the best and got everything he aimed for – the only one who managed to do that…🤯🙈 We need to talk about Maddie now. The two minutes from Maddie capturing Cait to Ambessa walking up the stairs, to Cait taking the gun from Maddies hands, to getting stabbed by Ambessa, to thinking Caitlyn getting executed and Maddies sudden death by killing herself with the help of Mel where an incredible adrenaline rush for me. My emotional rollercoaster went from anxious to shocked to being in awe to cheering to an ice cold hand squeezing my heart to shock and to cheering again. All this in only two minutes! 🤯💥 When I saw your face I knew your feeling all this, too...😅 DETAIL: Just before Maddie shoots you can see a light-inverted picture of her with an evil grin on her otherwise black face for one single frame...😈 Enter Jinx! Her bunny upfront on the speakers of her record player. That was probably the coolest of all the cool entrances in this show. Just putting a balloon atop her giant ventilator was such a great idea. Another hint that some time has passed since Ekko saved her. They reconciled and prepared their own weapons to enter the battle for the hexgates...🤩🙌 DETAIL: Jinx has painted huge pink bunny ears on her balloon to honor Isha…💖 DETAIL: Jinx is sitting in her “Jinx” chair she chose in episode 1x9. DETAIL: Behind the sitting Jinx you can spot Mylo and Claggor, both cleaned and newly scribbled on – now a little less disturbing than before…😅 DETAIL: Ekko wears his firelight mask as a knee pad on his left knee. What were Ambessas fighting principles again? VISION – Caitlyn made a plan with Mel. She looks down from the top (“…of the pyramide.”) of the Tower to see, what others don’t. Figuratively speaking she saw that they must get to Viktor to stop the battle. MIGHT – Caitlyn uses the Grey to isolate the sphere ("...bend the environment to your will...") and she used force to get to it. She took the risk of getting killed in the process. GUILE – Caitlyn uses the highly toxic Grey (“…absent honor…”) and has Mel (“…mages…”). SACRIFICE – Caitlyn willingly sacrificed her left eye to get close enough to Ambessa to take the runes from her. Mel was extremely clever and ruthless. She knew the Black Rose wanted to use her and she played along to use them to defeat her mother. Then she defeats the Black Rose (at least this mage) and gets rid of two enemies at once. She is indeed a wolf now.
