Arcane 2x01 Edited & Full
I wasn't sure if I should start Arcane right away, or take a break. I don't like the thought of leaving a series on pause when there's just one season to go so.... Let's go ahead with season 2!
This episode reminded me of 1x03... The unexpected. I don't even think I could come up with this plotline in my head (I would include too many pretty non-mechanical butterflies, for starters) but I do love how it's not afraid to push things to the limit...

It's quite a surprise that so many survived the attack on the council. But of course Caitlyn's mother didn't. Killed by Jinx. Of course Jinx. Another thing I love is the contrast between the place Caitlyn goes to be alone, and the place we've seen Victor go to. Caitlyn's place is beautiful: flowers, clear water, golden art. Victor's was a pipe above polluted water. It shows again the huge divide there is between those above and those below. Between Piltover and Undercity. Maddie's a cutie isn't she?
Wow what an episode! Can't wait to see where this season will go! Off topic, but does anyone else despise the latest update to the Patreon app? It's truly awful in my opinion and is really making me not want to use it anymore.
Ooh Neil, I don't use the app so I don't know what changes are made. SO annoying! I know they introduced something called Quips recently and I was going to ignore it but then it said something like everyone has to have it soon and its mandatory. I don't use that though. I did think about checking out Kofi instead of Patreon but I don't know if its an easy transition. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to know 💜
Thank you for continuing this great show. You'll profit immensly from having everything fresh on your mind...😍 DETAIL: The charcoal look of the scenes of Caitlyn mourning the loss of her mother are actual hand-drawn charcoal paintings, every single one - hand-drawn! 😱😍 The burial of Caitlyns mom was so incredibly moving. My heart broke so much for Caitlyn. It was so beautifully animated, how every color faded from the world and only a few beacons of light held her up. Like the young girl that put a flower down for her mother and seeing Vi. And this song... oh my god this song. And finally how Caitlyns eyes followed the closing lid of the coffin, to prolong the inevitable moment when she will see her mothers face never again...😍💔😭🙈 It is so wonderful (albeit heartbreaking) to see how Caitlyn falls into Vis arms, that Vi is the only person where she feels safe and knows she can be vulnerable around. It was hasty and an (understandable) mistake to “spring the badge” on Vi, but did you see her faint shadow of a hopeful smile when she tries to persuade Vi? She is in desperate need for an ally, but she doesn't think for a second about Vis feelings. And poor Vi is so torn between her affection for Caitlyn, guilt for what her sister did and her loyalty to her roots. Caitlyn is losing herself in vengeance fantasies. Until Jayce snaps her out of it. She mentions faces spinning through her mind and the vent opens and lets the petals spin around. Her mother – the petals float to the ground around her. Jinx – the wind from the vent gets stronger and blows light green smoke (probably from the underground) in the air, barely to see. Vi – the wind calms, the vent closes and she immediately sounds calmer and more hopeful. This whole sequence is so beautiful done...😍 DETAIL: As can be seen in the Kiramman family gallery, the legacy is passed down from mother to daughter. It is a matriarchy. 🤔 The Kiramman key is actually a key to the archive of the family knowledge. She reads something about smoke in the fissures and the ventilation system under the citys. You can see a Kiramman cutting a band opening a ventilation shaft. You can see something about gas masks, about the human body and the smoke seems to have eyes. 🤔
Charcoal hand drawn paintings? Honestly, the more I learn about the art, the more I am blown away. Absolutely STUNNING!
