Arcane 1x07 Edited & Full

I loved this episode. And a character that I really, really like is Viktor. His motivations, struggles and life interest me so much. I enjoy his friendship with Jace, though I think they probably used to spend more time together before Jace became a councillor.

Although there's a lot of characters, I feel that each one gets a decent amount of screen and story time. Admittedly, there are more I'd like to see more of, but for so much going on I feel that there's a really good balance of a bit of everything!

I get the feeling Jinx doesn't like Caitlyn much. Just a hunch. And once again with the amazing animation. I love how they keep thinking of new things to do with it, while still staying true to the overall style.

I can't handle how talented the animators are 馃槶

Welcome to act 3! Things are happening so fast, you can't get your defence up fast enough. This show makes one "block with my face" everytime...馃ぃ馃檲...馃槉 The intro looks awesome. As if this show isn't briliant enough, no, let's throw in a completely different style of animation and create another masterpiece. Together with the lyrics you learn everything there is to know about the firelights in a minute! 馃槏 By now Caitlyn is my favorite character. I always liked characters (or people in general) that always want to see the good in other people, who preserve some of that innocent naivety that we had as children. Yet at the same time they are so emphatic and smart, that they don't trust blindly. That's a thing Ekko and Caitlyn have in common, imo. Vi is similar, in her own way. Behind her cool badass attitude she is very vulnerable. Vander was her rock and without him she is constantly tumbling and seeking hold. I would love see Caitlyn taking this role, calming her, balancing her. They've already taken the first steps in this direction. 馃挅 Ekko and the firelights in general are my favourite faction in this story. They seem to follow a strictly no killing approach in their fight, unless their lives are in danger, and even then they rather try to escape if possible. Their goal is to undermine Silcos power by destroying his shimmer production, because they all had experienced the devastating effects of shimmer and/or lost people they cared about to it. And Ekko and his group are the only ones who we actually did see doing something good for the people of the undercity. They took other lost children and young adults in, gave them a family, built a new home together. That's pretty admirable under these circumstances. 馃槏 Victor is entering very dark territory. He's frustrated and desperate, because Jayce is caught up in his own problems and time is running out for him. So he decides to make himself the guinea pig for his experiments. He carves runes in his leg and the leg brace. I think he hopes to cure his leg by melting it somehow with the hexcore. From his point of view: What has he to loose at this point? Jayce gets so much pressure from all sides. Victor wants him to help him, the Council waits for his decisions (being the new leader after kicking Heimerdinger out), the blockade he ordered lets the tension rise close to the boiling point and Mel tries to push him to build weapons. He is in way over his head and begins to realize it. Interesting choice of words from Jayce: "They are dangerous!". It reminds me of young Marcus ("You people are all the same!"), Caitlyn ("In what world would I trust someone like you?") or Vi ("You enforcers are all the same!"). Marcus never overcame his prejudices, while Vi and Caitlyn are learning to do it and Jayce has Victor to set his head straight. Now you know why Jinx was working on the mechanical butterflies in the fourth episode. 馃槰馃槶 You can still see them in her lab when she staples her leg. They probably fly into the light like real firelights and explode. The mural under Ekkos tree is so heartachingly beautiful. It speaks volumes that Powder is the only person up there of whom Ekko knew she is still alive. He has been around and saw Powder transform to Jinx. Their little exchange at the bridge fight hinted that he even tried to "save" her and to join the firelights more than once, but she preferred to stay with Silco. Ekko tries to seperate Jinx and Powder, but you can't do that, they are two sides of the same medal. He gets a hint that Powder still is somewhere in there, when she accepts his challenge with their old childhood game. That's why he couldn't kill her in the end, he saw Powder giving up, not Jinx. It seems, despite his words to Vi he still had a tiny spark of hope that Powder isn't gone for good. 馃挃 DETAIL: The girl spraying pink haired girl's portrait (the one Jinx confused with Vi and shot in the back on the ship) on the mural is the one with the bird mask from the fight, the one who kicked Caitlyns lights out and took her and the gemstone. Vis and Caitlyns goodbye at the bridge was so heartbreaking. At least Vi herself confirmed that there was something between them: "It was real, cupcake!" She looked so sad and dejected, head and shoulders hanging, when she slowly walkes away from Caitlyn. No trace of her usual energy. Even when she hugged Ekko she only had eyes for Caitlyn. She gives up something possibly good to do the right thing. All the while Jinx high up on the bridge fights with her jealousy and Mylos shadow grows and grows. When Vi hears a shot she instantly runs back, screaming: "Caitlyn!" And Mylos shadow grows even more, until it threatens to swallow Jinx.馃槺 Unfortunately, Caitlyns naivety came back and kicked her in the butt. Even after Ekko told her, she couldn't imagine that the Sheriff himself is corrupt. Her picture of a Sheriff was that of Grayson, a honorable and good person. DETAIL: The level of attention to detail in the bridge fight is insane. When you watch the moment Jinx shoots at Vi and Caitlyn closely, you can see that Caitlyn tries to throw herself over Vi to protect her, while Vi at the same time pushes her away to get them both out of the line of fire. It fits with the shows masterful visual storytelling. Caitlyn throwing herself in the line of fire to protect the people she cares about and Vi doing the same by pushing them away. As always loved your analysis, you're spot on with all you've said...馃槉

You鈥檝e explained this so beautifully 馃槶 I鈥檓 excited (and scared haha) to see where it goes next!

I love this episode too. The scene on the bridge was so cool. From Jinx's mechanical butterflies, to the animation of the fight between Echo and Jinx, to the emotions of flashing back from the two of them as kids to today. I love how creative this show can get. They use animation and music in such interesting ways to tell their story. It is really like nothing I have ever seen. I also love the depth of each character. None of them are simple or one-dimensional. You don't know what they are going to do next, but their actions still make sense.

"You don't know what they are going to do next" exactly 馃槶 It's been hard trying to picture what's going to happen as it's all gone completely differently to what I thought!
