Arcane 1x03 Edited & Full
Wow, this took a very sharp turn. I honestly don't know what to say as I never expected any of this. Maybe it's covered in the game? But as someone who hasn't played, this is all new and it's shocking... To quote Buffy, where do we go from here?

Welcome to the club! It still hurts everytime I see it...馃槩馃檲 You're not alone, no one expected this to happen. Everyone I know sat there, shocked to the core, staring blankly at their screen and/or openly crying. Now the story really begins. You've only just experienced the first drop of the many twists, turns, loopings and free-falls this wild emotional rollercoaster has in store for you...馃檲 I distinctly remember thinking after watching this episode for the first time - and it took me a while to be able again to think - that this show is something special. Whatever expectations I had, they were all shattered and blown away by the intense drama that unfolded itself. I mean, it was clear since pretty much the first scene on the bridge that this isn't a childrens or family show, but a heavy drama. Still - trained by Hollywood storytelling standards - I had no idea what a dark tragedy this would turn into and it blew me away...馃槰 I've never felt so much or so intense for the characters in any movie or tv-show before, less an animated series...馃槄馃 This episode got many people hooked on "Arcane" for life. Because this one made very clear we are watching a true masterpiece...馃槏 This show is not directly based on the game. The creators took some champions of the multiplayer battle arena game and the lore behind them and turned it into the masterpiece you're watching right now. The only advantage game players have is that they know some of the characters and recognize more easter eggs, otherwise they where as clueless as everybody else. To the show itself: Take your time and watch the opening credits every time. They don't change, but with every new episode you understand a little more who the persons are that are shown to you and why they are shown to you in this way...馃馃檪 They definitely heard Vi, she was just not important anymore the second Vander took the blame. Grayson (the enforcer lady) understood immediately when Vander asked for a last smoke, that he is gonna take the fall for his adoptive daughter, you can see her eyes widen with sudden understanding and shock. Silcos goons outside the door survived the explosion because they where farther away from it and the room they where in was quite large, so the shock wave didn't hit as hard as in the small closed room Vander and the kids where in. The big shimmer guy (Deckard) survived because the Shimmer not only made him really strong, it also enhanced his healing powers. Vander did get healed by Shimmer to a certain extend, but the fall to save Vi killed him. You could see the blood pooling under his head when he lay on the ground. Powder going from happy (thinking she finally proved herself) to absolutely destroyed in merely one minute shattered my heart in so many pieces...馃挃 Seen from the outside, Vis reaction was a terrible mistake with awful consequences, but she is a traumatized teenager, too. She lost absolutely everyone in the span of a day. First Benzo, then her adoptive brothers, then Vander and for a short time she thought she had lost Powder, too. She simply collapsed under the heavy trauma. Later, but a moment too late (unfortunately), she did the right thing. She came to her senses, stopped and removed herself from the situation. You could see she was starting to run back to her sister the second she saw Silco, but Marcus (the corrupt enforcer) chloroformed her and took her away. When Powder said "She left me. She is NOT my sister anymore!", Silco looked immediately at Vanders body. I'm sure he thought about Vander not being his brother anymore after the fight that broke them apart and how he felt when Vander left him. In that moment he decided to not kill her, but take her in instead. That was an intense episode and reaction, I can't wait to see the next one...馃槉
Thank you for your comment, and taking the time to tell me your thoughts and feelings. This episode was incredibly rough, but I'm glad no one else expected this as well... I half wondered if perhaps this is all known knowledge and lore in the LoL universe and I was just oblivious as to what was going to happen. It is truly shocking, seeing all this unfold. From my excitement and hope that Powder would come in and save the day, redeem herself in everyone's eyes, to this utter devastation it's unbelievable 馃ズ
This episode was shocking to everyone. As tragic as it was, it was well done in how you felt the emotions of those involved viscerally. I mean the performance of Powder's 11-year-old voice actor was so good. And I almost felt Vi's punch when she hit Powder. But remember she is about 15 years old and essentially a kid too that saw her family all die for the second time. I think you can forgive some rash decisions that she seemed to instantly regret, kind of parallel to the flashback of Vander assaulting Silco in the beginning of the episode. This episode was hard to watch but what you realize by the end, is that we have been watching a prequel and the story is about to begin. Looking forward to next week and beyond.
I honestly did not realise what direction this show was aiming to take! It truly surprised me, and I wish I could say in a good way 馃槶 SO SAD.
Damn... That episode was both shocking and devastating. I can't really think of much to say right now other than I know this episode will be on my mind for a good while.
Totally shocking, isn't it? Very unexpected and it's almost difficult to gather my thoughts with this one 馃ズ
Not sure if anyone has said, but the voice of Victor is the same actor as Baines/Son of mine from the Doctor who episodes: human nature/Family of Blood!
Ahhh I don't think I knew that!
