Doctor Who 10x06 Extremis - Edited
Such a fun episode with SO many unexpected moments! The ending took me by surprise, and I loved the little moment with Bill in the kitchen. Goodness, I just adore Peter Capaldi. It's SO hard for me to pick a favourite Doctor (and I don't think I really can!) but I will say that every single Doctor has been one I've loved and adored in their own very different way. Peter is just fabulous.

I have a prop of the veritas that someone made and sold on etsy, don't worry i didn't go blind while reading it 😉

I'm back here at least until Peter's last episode, I don't want to miss it, his arc is really fascinating and Peter is an amazing actor and became my favourite Doctor after I initially didn't like him to much in his first season.
Love the plot twist in this one lol. Such good writing this season. Can't wait to see what's next
Who between us hasn't had a date ruined by the Pope...classic! For real though that scene was hilarious lol LOVE this episode so much, really good exploration of simulation theory and the chat the doctor and Bill have in the White House is excellent. I assume this is also the episode you stop gaming now you know all the characters think they're real? :p
As long as we all try to treat our characters nicely, we can still game 😅
In The Pilot, Bill says the Doctor has been at St Luke's University for at least 50 years, maybe 70. The assumption is that's where he went to guard the vault, so he's probably 70ish years into his guard duty.
AHHH thank you! I probably missed it or forgot 😅
I've always loved how this episode takes the "it's all a dream" trope, but makes it ACTUALLY matter. It was all a dream, but it wasn't all pointless.
I'm with you. I love every single one of the doctors and I've watched them over and over again. Now I enjoy watching them though the eyes of new fans. It's a treat to see your reactions and sometimes thinking, oh you wait to see what happens next😉😂. Definitely love Peter Capaldi, one of my very favorites. I remember when he first came on some people complained he's to old. I thought that's crazy, HOW OLDS THE DR. ? 😃😂 I love watching your reactions.
GOODNESS, yes!! The Doctor is thousands of years old, and people complain that he's too old?! It makes no sense to me 😅 but honestly, those that turned away from Peter have missed out!
Notice how the Pope didn't always speak English. Even when right next to the TARDIS. It wasn't translated. Such a subtle way to tell you that the world isn't real...
OH WOW, yes!!
Fun fact: The pope is played by Joseph Long last seen as another character called "Rocco Colasanto" Recognise him??... That's "This is many people's house" man who lived with Donna, Wilf and Sylvia in Leeds with his family in Turn Left in Series/season 4!! 🤯
Oh no way, I didn't recognise him haha
I will say it forever & a day Peter Capaldi may not be your favorite Doctor but he is without any doubt to me the best actor to ever play The Doctor in New Who. 12 goes on such a growth journey from S8 - to now and those who missed out really missed out on a stellar performance from a incredible actor. I say all of this while in my heart David Tennant will forever be "My Doctor" and my heart belongs with the 10th Doctor but 12 definitely just pips 11 for me in the end. This is one of my favorite episodes of S10, Peter playing blind as a performance and that line about Super Mario dying is just tremendous. Great episode 👍
I really cannot pick a favourite! All of them have been wonderful, in their own ways. I adore them all 💜
This might be my favourite episode of the season, aside from the finale. It was certainly a great one to see you react to with so much going on, not least the reveal about Missy. It was really well done with making it seem like at the start the Doctor was getting a message from the Vatican only to have the reveal at the end it was from the simulation of the Doctor. It was also a great episode for showing off Nardole as more than just a comic relief character with his conversation with the Doctor about confronting his blindness, and his being scared at not existing. The scene with the Pope interrupting Bill's date is brilliant, and something that would only make sense in context in this show with her lines. What I particularly enjoy is that Bill didn't seem at all freaked out by the Pope or his priests, instead just focused on her being annoyed her date was interrupted. Then again her ability to take things in her stride was what caused the Doctor to notice her and take her on as a student and companion to begin with.
This really was such a great episode! The Missy reveal was so well done, I'm so excited. She is a fascinating character, and I'm so happy they weren't finished with her story. Now, if only we can see River again! In fact, I'd like to see everyone again haha... One big massive reunion! Have a lovely rest of your week, Alice 💜
“Without hope. Without witness. Without reward” is my favourite Doctor Who quote in 60+ years
Season 10 is SO GOOD!
