A Man on the Inside 1x03 The Emily Always Rings Twice - Edited & Full
I'm really beginning to see that this show is more about relationships and growth and emotional moments than it is "who stole the jewellery" and I am completely okay with that. Is this a common theme with Michael Schur productions? They are emotional and wholesome and wonderful? A few people have mentioned Parks & Rec (not that many, compared to other recommendations) so that's another one I will check out either here or on the channel!
I hope you are enjoying this sweet journey 馃グ

I鈥檇 love to watch Parks & Rec with you. Warning, I didn鈥檛 think the first season was very good but it was only six episodes. It gets good in the second season. I think it needed a few episodes to find its feet.
One thing I love about this show, is that it has time and room to breathe, and for the actors to just sort of exist on screen. Take the clip from 20:04 to 20:25; just a few moments of Charles walking around awkwardly, thinking, and feeling something complicated about what's just happened. It really gives actors like Ted Danson a chance to just ply their craft. As much as I love The Good Place, it's not a show that lends itself to that sort of quiet moment. And of course, perfect slightly melancholy music for that scene.
Yes, wholesome shows that are funny and well told is kind of Michael Schur's thing and it's great. What makes it more impressive is he does this in genres that are not usually considered sweet, like police work, politics, and espionage. I mean he even made hell seem wholesome in The Good Place. Parks & Rec is just wonderful and you would love it, especially Ron Swanson. If you want to keep the good vibes going, I think it would be lovely for the channel (maybe with a Ted Lasso detour.) Brooklyn 99 is also great and wholesome but it is less serialized than his other shows.
Thank you for your help, Joe! Honestly, the more I hear of it, the more I'm leaning towards reacting to Parks & Rec and I definitely want to react to Ted Lasso as well! Goodness, I wish I had more time for everything haha! I think a n idea is to keep The Good Place and Man on the Inside good vibes going with maybe Parks & Rec/Ted Lasso once we are done. So to have a wholesome show, and a sci-fi show and a drama show going on at the same time so we are covering a good range 馃槉馃槉
