Severance 1x04 The You You Are

✨ I am thinking of a schedule change with Severance. I noticed that we've got reactions 3 days in a row which felt a little crowded. I'm moving Severance to this day (Monday 6am in Australia, most likely Sunday where you are!) so to give a little breathing room. Things may change again, maybe when we're finished The Good Place as I then want to start Man on the Inside and although the episodes are short (about 30 minutes) I have no idea how long they will take me edit at this stage. I did hope to have 2 of them out per week, but I'll just have to wait and see for now if that is manageable with Doctor Who and Severance. Maybe some weeks there will be two, maybe others one! I really want to aim for 2 though, so fingers crossed.
A tentative schedule could look like (All AEST times) Monday Severance, Wednesday Man on the Inside, Thursday Doctor Who, Saturday Man on the Inside

Okay, this episode was a lot. It genuinely left me feeling anxious and also very disturbed. Petey, the candle - just to name a few.
But you know me, I always try to look for the positive side. And it was easy to find here. I'm talking about Burt and Irv. I love it. They are beyond adorable!
I'm actually really starting to appreciate Dylan, too. He is really funny!

Somewhere in this reaction you said that if you were Helly you just wouldn't do any work and I wonder why she didn't try doing that because that's a much better idea than what she actually did. I mean, what could they do if you refused to do any work or any of their weird punishments? I also think that if you can't resign you may as well do whatever you can to get fired. Destroy anything you can get your hands on. Sabotage the work by purposely doing it wrong. There's many things you could try before resorting to suicide (yes, I understand that getting fired ends with the same result but at least that way you don't have to do something so extreme). But what a way to end the episode though right!? I don't know if they dropped all the episodes at once or did an episode per week, but that was a crazy cliffhanger if you did have to wait a week. Yeah, I totally agree with you, Neil! I would do the same. I'd either not do anything or just do it really slowly and inefficiently. They can't hurt me or punish me just because I am dumb, surely?! I am so timid I doubt I'd even do much other than slack off 🤣 I am SO happy you're enjoying the videos, Neil 💜 I'm kinda addicted to it! It's so weird and bizarre. I enjoy all the MDR workers equally!
Also, schedule related (and you may have realized this,) looks like season 2 of Man on the Inside starts November 20th. So timing should work out that you go right into season 2.

The end of the episode and pretty much everything with Helly is so hard to watch. But it reminded me of the idea that quitting essentially ends your life. So since her outie would not let her quit. The actions she took would lead to the same result for her. But the way she did it… she could have gone to another place and done it. But by going up the elevator, her outie would gain consciousness while being hanged. Just devastating.
Oh that is so true about her outtie probably dying as well. Wow... I think innie Helly is so disconnected with her outtie that I doubt she would have cared 😔
