Doctor Who - Night of the Doctor MINISODE

So many people told me to watch this one before the next episode - thank you! I'm also really glad I saw the Doctor Who movie. It really made this minisode special and actually made a lot of sense. I love that so many things are falling into place!

You're piecing it together great! Moffett loves to torment us and leave things all over the place so don't worry you're doing awesome! After this one many people say that they wish Paul got more chances as the Doctor he's really good.
Nice! So I've watched The Night of the Doctor today, and will watch The Day of the Doctor tonight. My head hurts!
The “Of The Doctor” title sequencing is such a cool touch. “Name Of The Doctor” is about his name but also about the literal name The Doctor. “Night Of The Doctor” is at night but more about a metaphorical Night closing, signifying the end/transformation into War Doc “Day Of The Doctor” and “Time Of The Doctor” have fantastic meanings too but Spoilers 😏
Moffat will always be my favorite Who writer. In just two scenes he portrayed 8’s character, compassion, and wit while really making you understand his weariness over the war and decision to abandon The Doctor as a title. Great great great writing.

I love this minisode alot. How it introduces the war doctor young was good touch. It makes you understand he fought in the war a long time as he was old when we saw him in the previous episode. I am so excited to watch your reaction to Day of the Doctor tomorrow! Ahhh!
Paul McGann is the biggest what if in Doctor Who he's so perfect in the role and has been for nearly 30 years running in audioplays, it was nice that Moffat added the salute to all of 8s audio companions at the time I do wish they had him as the Doctor during the Time War like RTD envisioned but studio politics are what they are The image at the end is of a very young John Hurt so when you see him older you feel the weight of how long he was fighting in the Time War
It's great to see you do this, as I know you said you're not interested in doing the minisodes but this should be an exception as it leads into Day of the Doctor. Oh and the one after is another "X of the Doctor". The war doctor is a retcon but a good example of how to do it right in my opinion given the way they use him. It makes sense as fans couldn't imagine Eight with his personality being the Doctor who fought in the Time War and there's a bit in Rose when Nine is checking his face as if he'd recently regenerated (though Russell Davies denies that was meant to be the case) so this version is a good third option. "I'm a doctor, though probably not the one you were expecting" is great bit of 4th wall breaking. The tv movie was 17 years before and McGann's only on-screen appearance up to this point (though he's done a lot of audio dramas) so no one expected him to pop up again. In fact until his image was featured alongside the other past Doctors, fans weren't sure if he was even canon. It's nice that you've actually seen the tv movie recently so you're familiar with him.
There's just so many that it got hard to keep up with and I kept messing up the order, so to save the stress they are usually something I just watch by myself, bar the ones that people ask a lot for (like this one and PS!) I loved that breaking the 4th wall moment! I'd say that many casual viewers haven't seen the movie and wouldn't have known Paul, but I'm glad I did as this minisode meant a little bit more to me 😊
