🌿 WIP Update – The Boutique Bookstore & Café Has Begun! ☕📚
Hello my dears,
I've finally started working on the lot, and I wanted to share an early look at the exterior with you all. ❤️
This is still very much a work in progress, but it's already starting to capture the cozy Mediterranean-inspired atmosphere I was hoping for: a charming bookstore / cafe filled with flowers, greenery, and little details to discover.
That said, I have mixed feelings at the moment. Recreating a real-life inspiration in The Sims is always challenging because we rarely have the exact objects, windows, doors, trims, or architectural details available. Sometimes it's a matter of finding creative alternatives and trying to capture the feeling rather than creating a perfect copy.
Because of that, I'm not completely satisfied yet, and before I continue I'd really love to hear your thoughts:

🌿 Is there anything you would change, add, or improve?
🌿 Do you have any suggestions for details that could help bring the build closer to the original inspiration?
One specific thing I'm struggling with is the main shop door. The current door is square simply because it was the only green door I could find that has glass panels and stays open, which works well for a café/bookstore setting.
But does anyone know of a door with a rounded arch top similar to the inspiration image?

is that sims in game patch with the bricks peaking through the plaster? why does it look decent?
Thank you so much! ❤️ I'm really glad you like how that detail turned out! To answer your question: it's actually a mix of two different things! The main wall texture is a beautiful Custom Content (CC) piece made by the amazing Ktasims. You can check out her incredible work on her website: ://ktasims.com The bricks peeking through are actually from an official Sims 4 pack—if I'm not mistaken, they are the wall decals from the "For Rent" Expansion Pack! I just layered them over Kta's wallpaper to get that realistic, aged look. Since sharing this preview, I’ve actually spent some more time tweaking the lot! I changed some of the doors and windows to better fit the Mediterranean inspiration, and I've also added a lot more greenery and plants to the exterior. I'll be sharing an updated look at the build very soon, and I'd love to know what you think of the new changes! Thank you again for your amazing support! 🥰✨
