From My Home, With Honesty
Hello my dears,
The past few weeks have been incredibly hard for Portugal. A series of violent storms has swept across the country, leaving behind destruction, fear, and a deep sense of helplessness. Homes were flooded, roofs were torn away, families were left in the dark — without electricity, without running water, and without answers. In many areas, people have been living like this for more than a week.
What hurts the most is not only the storms themselves, but the silence that followed. The lack of real support. The feeling of being invisible. Many families were told to rely on their own monthly salary to repair their homes — in a country where the minimum wage is around €900, and where many elderly people survive on pensions below €300. For so many, this is not a solution. It is an impossible choice.
I love my country deeply. Portugal is my home, my roots, my heart. And that is exactly why it breaks me to see what it has become. A country where ordinary people are left alone in moments of disaster, while those in power seem detached from the reality on the ground. The sense of abandonment is heavy, and it stays with you.
The area where I live was not among the most devastated, and for that I am grateful. My roof was not torn off. But water is still leaking through the ceiling of my kitchen and through the ceiling of my youngest daughter’s bedroom. This has started to affect the electrical system, causing short circuits and power cuts. Working like this has been extremely difficult, both physically and emotionally.
As if this wasn’t enough, my youngest daughter is home sick once again — for the third time this year. This time, she is facing the beginning of a small pulmonary infection. She no longer has a fever, but with this weather and everything going on, I cannot bring myself to send her back to school yet. My priority right now is to keep her safe.
I’m sharing this with a very open heart. Please don’t give up on my Patreon. Your support truly means more than you can imagine. If anyone is able to increase their tier, I would be endlessly grateful. I promise, with all my heart, to give back through my work as soon as I am able to stand on steadier ground again.
At the moment, I urgently need to repair the roof, but there is a serious lack of available workers. So many homes were damaged that professionals are overwhelmed, and the few options left come at prices that are incredibly hard to manage.
Thank you for reading this, for caring, and for being here.

Hello my dear Mimi :) Thank you so much for your message and for your kindness. 🤍 I truly appreciate it. I thought I had replied to everyone, but I accidentally missed the messages on that post. The past few days have been overwhelming. After recovering, Leonor developed a fever and shortness of breath again just four days later. The next step will be medical tests to rule out any immune deficiency. We’re taking it one step at a time, and I’m hopeful it’s nothing serious — just that she’s a bit more fragile and will grow stronger with time. She has been doing well these past few days, and I’m taking the opportunity to get my work back on track. I hope you’ve enjoyed the latest content and especially this newest lot. <3 Thank you so much for your patience and support. 🤍
