Ep. 51 Luka's extraordinary circumstance (audio only)

The thing that annoys me to no end with the situations like the Ivey ones is that so many people seem to fundamentally misunderstand what 1A / Free Speech means. Free speech is a public right, meaning the government, (state, federal, whatever) cannot charge or imprison you for saying things. It has nothing to do with what other private organizations or individuals do as a result of your speech. The NBA and it's teams aren't the government, they're a private organization that can fire an employee for whatever reason they want, every work contract has that clause. Freedom of speech isn't relevant in these situations. I absolutely hate when people bring it up as if it means something. He's using his freedom of speech and the Bulls are using theirs to say we don't stand with that. It's also dishonest for anyone to call this Christian persecution either when he said Catholics weren't righteous and aren't people of Jesus, blatantly anti-Catholic statements. Which is something few headlines reported. There's as many if not more Catholics than LGBT people, so I think it's just as batshit of a statement
