Fort Wayne Indiana represent🔥 Did you go to college here?
Yeah! I went to IPFW. I'm from Warsaw. what about you?
With the lack of digital media literacy in the US, AI recreation of the dead can really rewrite history for future generations and current ones. Especially with the push against any sort of education. AI could be used ethically but I've seen videos of Kobe and Gigi on a helicopter and Kobe recovering from a helicopter crash which is crazy. Using AI for research sounds fine to me as researching as a regular person is time consuming. Recreating Wilt's 100 point game would be cool too. Or like you said Bill Russell vs Embiid, Bron vs Jordan even a Kobe vs SGA AI video would be cool. However, AI should be regulated much heavily to stop the other bullshit and deep fakes.
I agree. pros and cons like anything. One thing I've noticed though is with every advancement in AI video I'm initially impressed but within a week or two I can spot an AI video. Maybe I'm full of shit, but I feel like you can spot the real thing. Kobe and Gigi recovery from the plane crash video is wild though.
Ai videos of MLK or anyone who is dead don't feel like a good thing to release upon the world, and is just one of many applications of Ai that are allowed to run rampant because of how much is invested into it. I agree that LLMs are a super useful educational/research tool and I use it all the time to study so I wouldn't judge someone for using it at all, but the future of the tech and its implications on the economy worry me since OpenAi has yet to turn a profit and their mostly unregulated product could have such wide impacts on normal people. Also, I like the tangents, the youtube is about basketball, the patreon being more of a discussion of life through the lens of basketball is a format that I like. Good episode 👍
It's definitely a bad thing, but it's here. It's impressive technology I'm just pissed they built LLMs before building a robot that can fold my laundry.
What do you feel about Youtube channels that obviously AI their research and voiceovers (bball explained)? apparently they are using software that generates the entire video for them. My mindset is that AI is a fad since before Sora, its only use case was a way to make money with less investment. Now, I will see if Memes can make it a stable presence in today's culture
That's crazy. I've not seen that channel. If the videos are generated by AI that have to suck right? The way I see AI is "if people can tell it's AI, you have a problem"
