Sacrifice: Was it a good thing?
Hello guys! Here I am, with another poll nobody expected! Now that Sacrifice has been available for a few months (at least for you guys), and that you also have access to the expansion, I wanted to know your overall impressions. Not the quality of it, or whether you like it or not (which is of course, very important too), but if you think it was worth me interrupting my work on Empire Undying. I'm absolutely in love with EU, and I keep doing things here and there for it so it's definitely not forgotten, but the fact that is such a big, multi-layered project makes it sometimes a bit daunting, and it's a great feel to be able to put out smaller things and feel like I've actually finished something. I'm personally super happy with Sacrifice though, so I hope you guys are enjoying me working on it. As I mentioned before, I have planned to release a compilation of adventures, and I have ideas for a second Companion as well... Overall people really seem to like it so I'm more than happy to keep making stuff for it, but I need to know if you, my patrons, are happy with me dedicating so much of my time to this supposedly small project. As you know I'm also almost done with Path of the Aram Thyr too(which I doubt it will become an obsession like Sacrifice has, since I'm already exhausted, my black heart needs grimness or I lose interest, fast), but I don't think there's any real risk of it becoming a larger thing, and it will most likely remain a one shot (even though I do have plans for expanding it, if people respond positively).
So today's question is: was dedicating time to smaller projects a good idea, or should I just go back to EU?

I'd hazard a guess, based on my own approach to creative output, that forking your attention on to other things will ultimately make Empire Undying better provided you've got the discipline to get back to it time and again (which you seem to and I struggle with, haha). There's something to be said for dedication to one project, of course, but if the ideas want to head you off into a different direction for a bit, it's probably wise to follow and we all benefit since we're getting something like Sacrifice out of the "side quest".
Yeah, I also feel like it's good not to force creativeness too much, or you lose the "magic". I'm still doing stuff with EU, just not with the pressure of having to release something monthly for Patreon because I'm giving you guys other stuff meanwhile, so I think overall it's all looking good!
Why is there no third option to have both!?! 😅 Sacrifice is what drew me in, but I'd like to see me some EU! 🙂
Haha yeah don't worry, EU is happening no matter what, as I mentioned I love the game and I'm eager to continue developing. Unfortunately I can't be focused on everything at once so any time I spend on Sacrifice or whatever is time I'm not working on EU...
Sacrifice wasn't why I started following you... That was ATDW, but sacrifice was an awesome surprise to discover and now dive into. I joined up in the Order because I simply enjoy the style of games you publish, big or small.
Really appreciate it! Don't worry, ATDW is not forgotten, at all. As soon as the game's out I'll start working on the expansion, for which I already have pages of notes. It's going to be a game changer!
Second the little projects, even one shots or tiny RPGs! But I'm here for the ride either way!
