Weekly update - 23/03/2026

Hello, and welcome to another weekly update! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was honestly a bit stressful; aside from being in absolute crunch mode to get all Machine Gods-related material done, I also got the files for Warren of the Ratkin ready for DTRPG, which meant doing a proper last editing pass, since I had missed a lot of stuff. These two things have kept me really busy lately, but they are both ready now. I am currently working on editing the Mörk Borg version of Voidspire Territories, and once that's done I'll hop unto The Array Thicket.

Aside from this, I've been busy with the Machine Gods Kickstarter, since it's a lot of work setting everything up. I am still aiming for a late April launch, we'll see if I manage to have the new expansion written by then! I don't want to launch without it, so I hope it works out.

I've also started looking for a new apartment. This was a little bit sudden, but I have been considering for a while renting some office space for myself, since my working conditions right now are less than ideal. We are three adults and two dogs in a single bedroom apartment that was meant for maybe a couple, but ideally a single person. I've managed to keep working despite all the mess (my mother in law has psychosis, so you can imagine it is not easy sometimes) but lately it's reaching critical mass and it's seriously affecting my work output. I need my own office. The problem is, renting in Madrid is just obscene. So is purchasing a new place, by the way, but we would sell our apartment, which is also going for a stupid amount of money right now (three times what we paid for it), so the situation goes from impossible to just hard. We are looking at our options, but I don't know how long this will take. What's clear is that I'll need to take a mortgage... I never thought I'd be taking a mortgage at 45 years of age, but here we are. I'm going later today to talk to the bank, let's see how it goes. Of course, if they don't approve it then this all goes down the drain, cause I certainly can't afford the prices they're asking for an apartment in Madrid, even if we sell ours.

Combine this with lots of family problems, health issues, and the general state of the world, and it's honestly a wonder I even get up in the mornings. If I didn't love what I do I'd just send everything to hell, guaranteed. All in all, this is turning out to be the most stressful period of my life. But I'll persevere! There's nothing else to do. Like an old friend and mentor (RIP) used to say: "Victoria o muerte, venceremos!".

Sorry for all the boring personal stuff, I just wanted to let you guys know what's going on in the background, in case you notice that I'm slowing down (which I really have, if I didn't hire Richard to write the few things I'm working on lately I wouldn't have anything to give you guys). In any case, I'm really excited by the possibility of having some proper space again, so I can play the many games I own, and record videos more regularly. More workspace and most importantly, proper working conditions, will certainly improve everything.

This week I'll be working on Machine Gods exclusively, since there's a lot to do. Once I'm done with all that, it's back to ATHV, but that's going to take at least a month. And once I'm done with ATHV, I can go back to other half finished projects (Sacrifice 2e, Empire Undying, Into the Warp & Ruin...). I am still planning on dedicating at least half of my time to Ker Nethalas, though!

Oh yeah, and Grand Master Patreon members: don't think I've forgotten about the promised exclusive quarterly material! It's all ready, all I need is the last illustrations from Marcin, I hope they'll be done this week! It's a nice little Ker Nethalas Domain that can serve as a starting point for new characters, I hope you guys like it! I've already started thinking about what to give you guys next quarter... As for our next monthly chat, I am aiming at April 5th. I'll confirm soon!
