Update - 09/03/2026
Hello, and welcome to another weekly update! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I spent mine working, since I'm trying to catch up with the myriad of different projects I have on my plate. I got the final version of the new Machine Gods edition, so that's going to be my focus for the time being. I want to have the new updated book ready for next month, but that also implies getting The Voidspire Territories book ready, since I don't want to confuse people with two books having different versions of the rules. Richard has done an amazing job with the Mörk Borg version of the game, so I'm really excited to share it with you all!
Aside from that, a month ago I decided that I couldn't wait for José Antonio to be done with all the art before releasing Warren of the Ratkin for Ker Nethalas, so I went ahead and contacted Marcin S., who has worked before with me on art for the game. He should be giving me all the illustrations any moment now, which means I'll be able to release the book next month, most likely. it's been almost a year since it was finished, so I'm glad it's finally going to be out! This means it will be ready shortly after the Gravebound version of the core rules and the Quickstart are released (which will happen later this month). I think I will actually remove the zines and the Book of Masteries PDF from DTRPG until they're both ready for sale, it's just too much hassle for me to either have them only as PDF, or to deal with people buying an outdated version of the books and having to explain that they'll get the update for free. I am overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have to get done so the easier it is for me, the better. I know it will mean my finances are going to take a hit, since most of my sales are related to Ker Nethalas, but it's not fair to let people buy an outdated version of the books, I think.
As for Machine Gods, it would be cool to do something to re-launch it, but it feels really weird to have a Kickstarter for a couple of books that are already for sale. I could remove them from sale, I suppose... And then just give the free update to those who already own it. I am working on a third book so a Kickstarter would be a great way to promote it, too. I have already spent a lot on getting this new version of the rules ready, and if I want to have a third book in the series done, I literally cannot afford the art right now (color pieces are not cheap). Of course, ideally I would offer offset copies but I just can't see that working out at a reasonable price right now. I can't make people pay 30 bucks for a book and 50 for shipping, and that is exactly what would happen to US customers. Who would buy a book under those conditions? Very few people.
So as you can see, I'm dealing with a lot of stuff. I have been working on Across a Thousand Hollow Vaults non-stop, but it's going slow. And right now I really want Machine Gods done, because I need the psychological boost of finishing something, instead of having yet another half finished project in my queue. I can do this relatively quickly, so I will get this done ASAP.
So this week it will be all Machine Gods, with any spare time dedicated to ATHV. Really busy week ahead!
That's it for now, have a great week!

It's not just a psychological thing, it's also an economical one. One thing ended means you can start selling it and getting the money you spent in art back and then start earning.
Yeah I really need a bit of cash injection, after how much I'm spending lately in writing and art, haha.
