The only reason the Elders made Kyle a Whitelighter is because he was against the Avatars. The guy put Sheridan in a coma to get rid of her, he intentionally shot Paige with a tranquilizer dart because she was in his way and he tried to kill Leo twice, just because he was part of the Avatar faction. And that's just the stuff they showed. Who knows what else he did before we were introduced to him. He didn't care. He didn't give an F about anyone to get his way. Those aren't traits of a good person. Those are major red flags. Doesn't matter if the intentions are good if he's willing to do bad things to achieve them.

Apparently when Kyle (or anyone else) becomes a whitelighter they're required to leave their mortal life behind, sever personal attachments, and focus entirely on their duties. That's the explanation, but they always broke the rules anyways, so it doesn't make completly sense. I guess Kyle is more of a rule follower and at least hes not really dead.

Don’t forget that pesky little rule about witches with Whitelighters. They broke that rule once for Piper and Leo (supposedly because they foresaw the powerful baby they would conceive for good) but they aren’t running around happy letting witches (Paige) get with whitelighters (Brody) .. So that answers why they can’t stay together I think..

Sure, Leo did sacrifice himself to stop Utopia, but he still needs to face the consequences of his actions. You can't start a fire and then expect a medal for stopping it. Btw, when Phoebe touches the book and gets flashback premonitions of all the losses, we briefly see Prue's face when she holds dead Piper's hand 😭
