Update: 10,000 True Fans Theory
Hey guys! I've been doing a lot of thinking.
What I do is very niche. The true art of swordsmanship will never be as popular as pop-culture, Hollywood, and videogames…
but I DON'T want to change!
And there is a community out there that WANTS this content, and is underserved.
So instead of changing the algorithm, sponsors, and trends I want to stay true and rely on my fans.
With at least 10,000 fans financial support of just $1 a month the channel can survive and thrive. Allowing me to give you guys EXACTLY what you want, not just what will sell.
So my new goal is to try and support the channel entirely on Patreon. Which will mean I can get rid of ads on full length videos and never have to accept a sponsor again.
It will be a slow process, but all of you here are helping with it!
Thanks guys! You guys were giving me the security I need to be able to pursue this as an actual career, and not live in fear of YouTube, TikTok, or some other platform changing their rules or shutting down.

I don't know how long I've been watching but I love your content
Have you considered adding fun goals to the chart so people don't get just a purely "i need money to keep doing this" vibe but more of a "help us fund the channel and we'll do some funny/embarassing/cool stuff" vibe. For example some kind of giveaways, new limited time merch (shirts, stickers, flirty calendar 👀, and so forth), live workshop?
I am learning longsword (I think of Zwercopter whenever I do a Zwerchhau, btw), but as a Larper and someone that will be at Drachenfest-US, I really would love to see more about how to do stagefighting. :D But, I've found your videos pretty helpful and encouraging for my own training. Keep doing what you're doing, best of luck.
Not sure if this would be worth or not, but redoing movie scenes to have proper sword combat, like SWs fight choregraphy, or what have you would be super dope. I feel like there probably wouldn't be a whole lot of difference, like, would I be wrong in assuming that you could still get "fancy" flourishes in real sword fighting if down at speed?
That would be cool!

Hey David! I will say that, most of your content is informative, fun and entertaining... I was really sceptical at first, when YouTube recommended your channel. Let's say you grew on me, you're humble and honest person. Always being transparent in what you do and open to discussion. I can see your potential, I really wish for you to continue what you do and what you love. "You have my sword..." I'm glad I can support you with at least Patreon pledge here. Rock On!

If taking sponsors and ads help you out then i generally dont mind but if its a choice that you dont want to then i am fine with that as well
