July-27-2026 - Cyber-Mutant Concept art and commissions!

This week, Grimweaver rears his fangs for the next victim, and Etsuko prepares to make everyone say "Hear me out"!

Grimweaver is the first enemy Cybermutant to get a full render, and he was a lot of fun to draw.
Some of you might be able to tell that his human form is very much inspired by Michael Berryman, if not outright lifted, because any time he shows up in a movie, you know things are going to get really freaky, and his characters have been an inspiration for the nature of the Cybermutants themselves. I feel like if you're going to make a story that is very tributary to series like Kamen Rider, you have to keep the horror tones strong to stay true to its spirit.

Then we have Etsuko! She doesn't really have a special codename, but her true form is a mix of a Whiptail Spider and a Scorpion, and she was commissioned after a client and I started brainstorming ideas for art. She was inspired heavily by the Kumo woman from Kamen Rider ZO and Kanako from Dark City. The stinger nipples were entirely my idea.
Uncertain if this design will be used for Super-Bug Raiders, but I definitely had the idea of some creepy-crawly seductress to toy with the Raiders before we had our discussion.

I also think I've reached the "Good-enough" stage of writing the first chapter of Super-Bug Raiders, so now I can start writing the next chapter ahead of time before I start the comic itself.
The first chapter went through a lot of drafting and rewrites for the past year or so, but I'm pretty confident it's as good as it's gonna get, and I'm excited to start on it in the next month perhaps. Still, I still have more concepts to sketch out and bits of lore to write.

For next week, I'm getting started on another commissioned comic, and continuing Performances.
Until then, thanks for the support!
