The Wolf explains the Mckamey Manor scam
This is the raw half hour long conversation of the first time I talked to the Wolf, one of the main characters of my Mckamey Manor series... enjoy listening to his experience and the information he gave me to make this entire series!

i'll never be able to pronounce "wolf" the same after this series, "the wuff"
In your introduction to the interviewee, I think if you wrote out a little script for the beginning of your interview it would help you come across stronger. If you said something like “Hi, my name is Ben, I put myself into reckless situations with dangerous people and try to look at my experience in an unbiased way. As of right now I have completed an experience with Russ at McKamey Manor, and during my exit interview he prompted me to research “the haters”, which led me to you. So, I would like to hear what you have to say in regards to McKamey Manor, and perhaps we can start with your first experience with Russ…(for example, etc etc…)” As an aside, I wonder if you’ve ever watched Columbo, his general idea to catch someone is to pester them, and usually the ones that get annoyed by him the most are the ones that have something to hide. You might be able to take some inspiration there.
Ben you the man🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼👊🏼🔥
Any updates on new videooo
Waitiiing for video woo
When is episode 4 coming? :( I thought it was going to be uploaded today.
I think maybe this was the first 30 min part stuff he mentioned yesterday? Or did he actually mean a new part of the series?
I have a suspicion about Russ's mindset in all of this. He is someone who cannot tell between an illusion and a lie. When you go into your traditional staged haunted house, an illusion is being sold. The actors sell the act. There is an overbearing master, a mad scientist, a crazed killer right around the corner, but really, it's just an actor and an illusion, not a true attempt at deceit. At best, you feel startled for a moment, and you might scream some explicit remark, but then you realize that they aren't allowed to touch you and you just have to keep moving forward, so most people make it through just fine and laugh about it, after. Later, you see all of the actors at Denny's, some still in make-up, some without, and you remember that they're just (relatively) ordinary people. Russ wants to sell something harder, though, and in order to do that, he does not separate himself from the act that he is trying to sell. In doing this, he genuinely believes that it is okay to advertise all of these things as "real," knowing that he only intends to create the illusion of those things with the meager resources he does possess, like blindfolds, cages and hoses. His single greatest fear is that your doubt is going to overwhelm the illusion, and so while he is certainly happy being called "dangerous," the last thing he wants to be called is "fake." It's true, but he NEEDS you to not believe it, because that is what fuels the act and perhaps his own power fantasy. He doesn't want to just be some guy with ropes and a loud voice. He wants you to believe that that all of those things he promises are things he has actually delivered, and he uses torture and manipulation techniques in order to produce that result. Even if he cannot convince his target, he seeks to convince the audience that he has convinced his target, and so he can never let on that he doesn't actually have the ability to facilitate the experiences he claims to. He wants to tell himself that the illusion results in truly terrifying "positive" experience for EVERYONE, so efforts like Ben's to expose the truth work directly against that motive. It's not actually so farfetched that Russ, as a sort of self-perceived illusionist and artist, would want to create this immersive experience the very same way authors do with books and directors do with film. But I think Russ is an example of what happens when someone who is a bit self-deluded, possibly with untreated disorder, and too fantastical in his thinking does this with the horror genre and a background in military to inform it. I love horror, and I've signed a waivers for more immersive haunts, myself. They also tend to sometimes oversell the illusions and rely on community rumors that truly "dark, demented things" are taking place, but it's all hype intended to make the experience feel more real. The experiences are definitely more immersive because the actors can touch and restrain you, but in all of my experience, they're ultimately benign. It seems like Russ is just trying to do an extreme version of that without the resources and proper ethics to really back it, and that makes it not very benign. He's like the unethical carnival operator who flies under the radar and makes "unwinnable games" for unsuspecting guests who are used to your typical regulated and winnable game of chance, and because it is advertised as winnable, people authentically believe they have a chance. I do think it is concerning that people have come from some of these experiences with actual injuries, because that indicates a propensity there for him to one day take things too far. This risk will only increase the more desperate Russ becomes to oversell his illusion. The man actually needs treatment and help, from the sound of it. I think I would caution the average and inadequately prepared person against signing up for McKamey Manor in the foreseeable future, because there is no telling what Russ might try in order to recover from this exposure.
this is interesting speculation but i suggest you look deeper into it. russ hasn't been trying to run a legitimate haunt since 2012. it's essentially just a fetish/entertainment (at the haunter's expense) thing now, russ just likes messing with people and he found people online who like to see it happen
Why not just fly a drone over the house when someone’s going through? It wouldn't that kind of help reveal some of it?
Lol I think it’s been done haha
So I get that Russ does this whole physical bootcamp in his backyard thing now and that's pretty much it... but I'm confused about the beatings and the graphic bloody stuff from "The Manor" that existed before. Was this real? Did people actually get beaten and how did he get away with that!!? Or was that all fake too? I'm so confused! Well done Ben. Great series. Can't wait for more ☺️
My 2nd video talks more about that and I’ll be diving into that more in the 5th episode… but it’s always been fake. People actually got beat up, but it was just because they got punched, none of the stunts or activities he claimed ever existed
I just found Danny on tik tok for you page! So weird since I have been following you both here and on youtube!
This is on YouTube, not only Patreon...
I can’t upload long videos to Patreon… but it’s unlisted so only Patreons can view it. It’s invisible to everyone else!
Loving this series!!!! You are amazing and such a hard worker I know people are pressing you to post but you are taking your time to make sure this series is perfect!!! And that says a ton about you as a content creator!!!! Your one of the BEST in my opinion!!!!
