STEEPLE NEWS

The Steeple summer special is complete and looks great. Max Sarin and Sammy Borras have buffed this thing to a high shine. My intention is to release it to $3-and-up Patreon subscribers in late May, and through Gumroad. Hopefully I can get it into print at some point too.

At the same time as this glowing, beautiful thing is sent out into the world, a sort of equivalent Steeple nega-item will also appear, running Monday to Friday for three weeks. All I can tell you about "Brian's Insides" is that it... well, it's short. Short and to the point.

It's what happens when you write 32 (quite intricate) pages of something... draw the first one... and have no desire to draw a second.

I'll leave you to puzzle this one over.

If you look at the titles closely, you can find out that the first letter of each title forms, 'SIYIHBYHBULYBIS' - which absolutely means nothing at all.

You're getting close to the truth, I'd take a step back unless you're ready.

Ahh, The Beatles appearing in a John Allison comic. They finally made the big time!

Based on the titles I'm very excited for 3 weeks of comics about... constipation?

Excellent to have some Steeple News, and also some oblique NEMS NEWS.

I think you could have been confident that we'd recognise the fab 4 from the quality of your caricatures - labels were not strictly necessary!

Only four captions for five Beatles though. Who is the fifth Beatle?

Ooh, Budleigh Salterton, famed birthplace of Giles Wemmbley-Hogg.

Knowing how you come up with names by choosing the ones that have stuck in your memory from all sorts of places, does the name Marsden come from Carmilla? :D (either the one being wonderfully drawn by Thomas Wellmann on the Instant Gram — or the source of his inspiration, the original book...)

J

No, Gerry Marsden is an actual 60s pop star. Everything in those Beatles comics - within reason - was based on something real.

YES! SUMMER SPECIAL :D
