Small sketch parade
A few drawings for you. I've not been sketching much of late. Or at least, not a lot that wasn't related to the story work I'm doing and therefore locked down until things run, sometimes months from now. Also I caught cartoonist's dropsy for two weeks and moved around the house like an elderly & stately vampire in between naps. I am recovered now (drank some holy water - very refreshing).
The headline act is the illustration of a Webtoon comic title cartoonist Rachael Smith came up with for me. You'll have to guess who those characters are and what they get up to. Then Esther and some tiny creeps (possibly related to "BLIGHT"?) Next the rough for my Murder She Writes 15th Anniversary cover, which came very easy. The page of multiple drawings is from an evening watching hard-to-find wartime devil-worshipper scare movie The Seventh Victim. A lot going on there. And finally my idea for one of those Famecake video billboards on Briggate in Leeds. I did not spend the necessary £5 to run it for an hour.
ITEM! Last weekend I added some PDFs and new bundles to my Gumroad page.
ITEM! We're a week from brand new comics returning to badmachinery.com - first up, a two-weeker called STRUCK OFF, then a 14-week, 42-page spectacular starring Esther de Groot called BLIGHT. Then another (as yet untitled) two-weeker that rounds out this little section, and then it will be Christmas. Where does the time go?

Amazing skills! 🌟
For those in the U.S., Val Lewton's The 7th Victim is available from the Criterion Collection, in an edition that also features I Walked with a Zombie.
I thought Ashley Giles was the King of Spain?
Very good
Can't wait!
I'm very fascinated with the concept of a car being part of the Spanish Royal Family
Webtoon titles always remind of the Homestuck gag about how the millions-of-years-old alien civilization run out of movie titles to use so now all their movies have names like "47 On Screen Explosions, One Resulting in the Demise of a Key Character; 6 to 20 Lines That Could be Considered Humorous"
Very keen to see Blight unveiled after you and Laura teased it in Nottingham.
The Webtooniest Webtoon ever
That headline is certainly very WEBTOON coded
Damnit! I can't draw worth a farthing and now I have to sit down and draw a frog bicycling.
that splash page on Webtoon is.... special. "Changing the Genre From Angst to Heartwarming" is an actual title. Love your take on the wild romances there!
Haha I read that one too!
Inability to draw someone riding a bike is a serious issue, deserving greater exposure. Have you considered a GoFundMe campaign to raise the necessary £5?
