Slobbery ole ball
Patreon have been very keen for you to start using something called "Quips". I did a few and I think they're stupid. Just a way to ping people's phone notifications, another social network. Unless some great use for them appears, or you really really want them, I will ping you no more.
So here's something trivial that I drew while I was waiting for the kettle to boil. Served up here in the flow of the mighty river, just like everything else.
I'm working on another PDF sketchbook zine, like Poison Years from last month. This one deals with 2018-19 and is more than 100 pages long. I'm about halfway through annotating it.
ALSO: I'm currently drawing a new mini called BLIGHT, and if I can get my dander up, I'll begin laying out Solver volume 2 (WOBBLY HEAD/LITTLE DAYS), in the hope of having both ready for Thought Bubble in November. Returning to self-publishing has been interesting but I hit the ceiling on my ability to get out there and sell the work much quicker than I thought I would. Doing everything on your own is exhausting. Who could have imagined?
BUT: I do have an event in the next couple of weeks, related to Solver, an in-conversation event at Nottingham Central Library on Wednesday August 5th at 5.30pm. If you're local, I think it will be fun! Free tickets here.

I only recently discovered that there's a "group chat" for you on Patreon and I hadn't even heard of Quips. I get an email when you send a post and that's good enough for me.
Don't have the app. won't get it, not even if you'd promised quips. Whatever they are.
Cool! ^^
I don’t know what Quips is, but it sounds like something Dean Thompson would love.
It's nice to see Lottie playing with her dog once in a while.
I think they are for generating a wider audience.
Pepper is the best dog
It's objectively true!
I support "a well known archaeological enterprise" who have embraced quips in a big way and they are quite tiresome. I would be quite happy for you to give them a miss.
Never noticed quips, possibly because I don’t use the app, which is pants.
Same, same, and same
Counter productively I've not been getting any notifications for Quips and only just realised I'd missed a bunch of pictures from you hidden in them.
More than happy for you not to do these "quips" John 👍
As someone who has seen a bunch of quips from creators I support, I really don't get the point. For my experience, it's just like a post, except maybe shorter, and I don't get an e-mail about it. I think they are a "value-subtracted" type of offering.
As someone with a creator account I don't use anymore I find the constant emails from Patreon Corporate about how I should be posting Quips and Quips are great and all my bcker loooove Quips to be nauseating. What you really want on your support-artists-you-like platform is endless corporate badgering, right?
