Garfunkels (not the restaurant)
Did you know that Art Garfunkel and Art Garfunkel Jr now operate as a duo singing sepulchral versions of American pop standards? I’m not sure who the music is for but I admire their entrepreneurial spirit. At first I found the music funereal and weird. But now I’ve started to accept it as a new form whose merits are simply an acquired taste. Something a bit different. And I love to draw them.
I’m not sure this is good content.

Bless and curse you John, for leading me back into my long-cured "Garfunkel Fever," in which I am unable to determine which of his 1975-1981 album output I find the most thrilling. Though not for lack of effort! It's a lonely crusade...
I’ve never investigated the “Bright Eyes” hitmaker’s solo records. Is it worth catching Garfunkel Fever?
It seems Garfunkels the restaurant chain never reopened after COZID
The most middling restaurants of all, a London fixture that no one goes to, a solid 5/10 on Tripadvisor. RIP
I was not ready for this revelation.
Hey, this kind of rules, thanks for the heads up. Musically it reminds me a little of Scott Walker's '70s stuff, though obviously neither of the Arts sound like Scott.
Aw shit, John. Ty for this. This is exactly the kind haunting music I absolutely love.
😭 There’s a cover of Time After Time.
Makes you wish they'd just go fishing together or go see a baseball game or ride a tandem like a normal US dad/son
This stupendous rabbit hole has sent me down to Junior's "Der Boxer," the third track on "Wie Du: Hommage an meinen Vater," and my life is all the richer.
Listening to that entire album has made me a better human.
Be assured it is good content.
It's always good to know new things. Expecially if that involves funeral music.
I gave up on the Garfunkels. Can I find me some Funkgarbbles? Please!?
That seems like a supernaturally smooth bald head
And so matte! Mine is always at least a little shiny.
John, you're always good for new music recommendations, you renaissance man you.
This might not be a recommendation so much as a warning…
Would you rather hear Garfunkel and Garfunkel cover Cindy Lauper or Cindy Lauper cover Sound of Silence?
I think there are few things I’d reject if it meant never having to hear Garfunkel and Garfunkel more than the very brief investigation I just did. Also, hearing a She’s So Unusual era Cyndi do ANYTHING woukd be epic.
My dad said the same thing to me when he passed on the family business (Disclaimer: this is a lie intended for comedic purposes)
You really captured the earlobes, a lot of people would have overlooked that
