Health Update October 2025: Some Good News, and other stuff
Hello all. It's been a bit since I updated you all on the goings-on with my health, but things have finally started to move thankfully.
So, Ive finally been able to visit the specialist I was scheduled to see after half a year of waiting for the appointment, and he's certain that what I'm suffering from is rheumatoid arthritis. He started me on a different, stronger medication to take every day for a month, and then go back to see him again next month to report the effects, and then we would decide how to continue from there.
I'm glad to finally understand what I'm suffering from, and that I'm not going to have to get surgery to fix my hands, at least. There is not a drastic change or improvement yet, but the new medication has made it so that the pain seems to appear less often on a daily basis.
I've lost a lot of muscle in my dominant hand, having to stop using it for a year, and writing and drawing is still impossible without it causing a flare-up of sharp pain that lasts a long time, but the specialist doctor explained to me that i should be able to start trying some physical therapy to try and regain some use in the hand. I'll give updates at a later date if there are any new developments, but this is where I'm at right now at least.
I'm still unable to draw on paper yet, I'm sad to say, so I'm still forced to post old unseen sketches in the sketch tiers for time being, but it looks like maybe there's finally some hope on the horizon. I can thankfully do digital art pretty comfy now in short bursts at least due to the method that I use to draw digitally not requiring any wrist movement.
Money is still a dire situation for me right now, unfortunately. I still do not make enough from patreon to pay monthly bills, so i'm operating at a loss and have to use savings that are going down each month. I'm not sure what to do, but if anyone reading this knows anyone who would like to see my art here and help me financially, please feel free to let them know I'm here and what kinds of things I create.
The fact that I may be looking at a medication I'm going to have to take indefinitely has me very worried on how im going to afford it at this point, to be honest with you.
In unrelated less serious news, I've been looking at my patreon's decorations, and I'm thinking of changing the tier names and images to something new and updated. These have been the tier names and icons since I created my patreon many years ago, and they dont represent the vibe this place has anymore. I'll have to think on it for a bit, but if any patrons have suggestions they feel strongly about I'll at least hear them out :)
