Hand Update: Finally, some good news
Hello all, i finally got the results back from my doctor and things are finally starting to feel hopeful again. Long story short: they are saying my hand inflammation is caused by a blood-related problem. That might sound scary at first, but thankfully it is something i can fix through a change in lifestyle and diet, which i have already started to do and i'm already beginning to feel the daily pain lessen a bit over the last few days.
I'm getting older and this has been a harsh wake-up call that I can't live so casually like i used to. i have to treat myself better from now on and be more mindful, as well as not overworking which was the catalyst that started this all off in the first place. Clinical Depression has been a big hurdle for my entire adult life, and anyone who also suffers from it can understand how it can make a person want to just give up on caring about anything.
It is strange that repetitive motion injury and a blood problem decided to use a dual-tech attack on me all at once but life can be strange like that sometimes... it really goes to show you that you dont have to be overweight or sickly to have something wrong internally that you're completely unaware of.
Really, I'm just so glad to hear it's not arthritis or something i would have needed to get surgery to fix! honestly that was one of the biggest sources of anxiety these past few months because i just cannot afford something like that and would probably be in medical debt indefinitely.
Anyway, i just wanted to update you all with the good news. I'm not sure when i will be truly able to make art again because i know not to push myself or dive back into everything too soon, but hopefully i will be able to feel capable again before long. I will keep you all updated as i can. Thank you for reading.

Very glad to hear that your hand issues are both treatable and reversable! Hope this step leads to a healthful change that will ensure you're able to creatively express yourself in as many ways as you like for years to come. Be cool and be well, Raku!
Thank you Quintalian! I appreciate your encouragement!
If you need a bit of diet advice on recovering your tendons, maybe, consider a diet rich in protein, vitamin C, omega-3 fatty acids, and especially collagen. So Blueberries, Blackberries and other fruits for Vitamin C, lean meats and nuts for Protein, Salmon for Omega-3s, and these foods for Collagen: Egg Whites Skin and Cartilage of meat foods Bone Broth Tomatoes Berries Avocado Though if it's more of a blood issue than tendons, it might not be AS effective, but if there's a chance the inflammation caused any damage to the tendons in your hand, then maybe it might help somehow. I hope it helps even a little, and that you get well soon.
Thank you for the advice! I have started to eat foods like this so far, and i'll try out these foods as well
I'm so glad! Good luck with the changes you're making, and I hope the next update you give us on this is even better news. <3
Thank you Kevin! I appreciate that, and I hope to as well!
This is incredible to hear! I'm also trying to improve my lifestyle to be a bit more healthy, but it's hard to commit to big changes when life gets stressful! That kinda thing will be magnitudes less stressful and difficult than surgeries and debt would have been though. I'm really glad things are looking up now! Excited to see what ideas you've thought up over the past few months whenever you are well enough to draw again :)
Thank you Meivuu! I appreciate that, and im excited to show all the things ive thought up too. Also good luck on your changes as well!
I'm really glad to hear you're seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. A few years ago I had debilitating pain in my left arm that turned out to be because of a herniated disc in my neck (though it took like a month to get that diagnosis). I was able to recover with physical therapy, though I still have to be careful about ergonomics. I still need to get better about taking care of myself, but I'm relieved to hear you're getting better.
Thank you! Ahh that sounds like it was really rough, im glad youre better now though
That must be an incredible relief, I'm happy it's not anything worse. If it's inflammation would cooling pads at least aid in the pain? Not that you should be doing anything much right now. I understand what you mean by depression, so I'll just say I hope we can both do our best in taking care of ourselves, lol.
Thank you! Cooling pads have been used plenty haha. they sometimes seem to numb the pain for a while so they seem nice. Thanks for the kind words as well, do your best Lucky
