Announcement: Patreon Freeze

Howdy folks, Mel here! Today, I’ll be talking about our changes to the content we’ve been releasing in the last few months, what we’ll be doing during the months of April and May, and our plans for the future!

The Big Freeze. As we mentioned in the last month, our original plan was to freeze payments during the month of March while we worked on our monthly hunt, Leaf or Death, but due to some technical issues, that didn’t happen. Instead, we’ll be freezing payments for the months of April and May.

If you’re already subscribed to our patreon, that means you won’t be charged for those months. If you plan on subscribing to our patreon during that time, however, you’ll be charged for a month’s worth as usual!

Peaceful Times. Because of the freeze, the Tavern’s quest board has been completely frozen over, meaning there’ll be no monthly hunt for the months of April and May. Eager hunters will still be able to track new quarries every week, however, as Monster Wheel will continue releasing new monsters throughout both months.

Why the Freeze? This has been something we’ve been wanting to do for a while, and it’s hard to give a single reason why we’re doing it. In reality, it’s a combination of:

• We want to give our patrons the best product we possibly can, but as of recently we’ve been consistently releasing hunts in a Beta state. We want to take these two months to improve our workflow and build a backlog of adventures to make it easier to consistently release the high quality content you deserve;

• We’ve been working on the Loot Tavern Vault for a long time, and want to release the first usable Beta for it when we return from the break, alongside a way to integrate it with Patreon so you can access all of your items from there;

• Our Patreon page has been quite outdated for a while now, and we want to overhaul our tier descriptions, provided services, master posts and more to give everyone the best experience possible;

• With the release of Zaman’s Guide to the End of Times’ Kickstarter coming out on April 8th, a lot of our team will be focusing on it and the break will alleviate the strain on everyone else while that goes on;

What Next? Come June 1st, as the ice melts, the Tavern might look a bit different from what you might be used to! L’arsène has been working hard on a Vault to keep all our magic items on, some tiers will look different from what they do now, monster wheel will become exclusive to $10 patrons and above, and we will finally archive older hunts like we promised to do last year. 

We will make sure to make a second announcement as we get closer to June sharing more details on how everything will be changed, and how that might affect your current tier! These are big changes so we want to be transparent and let you know about them upfront, no surprises!
