(N) Hive Rebirth - Progress
This is the first time I make mouse aiming for an Act game. It took me a very long time to figure out how to make the arm follow the aim on Spine2D.
While I am animating and coding the ground floor, I would like to talk about my brief idea on next project. It will be a roguelike game which player can pick the mutation when they progress but resets after each level or death.
There are two directions I can go with the map area.
Simple one directional map, like HAS2, player clears a room, pick mutation, move to another random room.
Complex map like HAS1, exploring in a small open map, requires more time to design.

Do you have a timeline on the release of the current project? I eagerly look forward to every single game you develop!
I can't promise you any exact deadline yet as many things are new to me in Godot engine.
I think what might be easier for making the game is simple for the base then once that's done can then add the complex versions as a choice to simple runs or complex runs in an update
I think it could be interesting to have a stacks mechanic. I mean that could lead to different endings (like the previous Game that have 2). Something like "if the player have +X quantity of stacks leads to ending 1 or if it has fewer than X stacks lead to ending 2". Those also can come handy to determine the protags body stage or mutation, and to maintain the Main idea of the Game at the end of each level the player can get an option to remove those or maintain it, not to mention that could lead to have different dialogs for her, like if she has a Lot of "corruption" has one perv or if she has a "clean" state a more rightneous one, that could be a great detail.
Sounds interesting, Is the previous game 'Hell after school 2' or 1?
Simple linear maps also introduce a lot of replayability as those could have randomised encounters. And spending 20h+ while playing game is something to look forward for me
Honestly I would gladly pay for DLC/expansion that has randomised game mode, even for previous games like Para Ark
I think that a simple linear map will be easier because then you can add some randomness to the overall layout of the run.
I'm so looking forward to this game that I can't resist.
Will the complex map change its structure by itself? Like changing its structure whenever player enters it?
no, if it is a complex one, I won't add randomness to it.
I never played the HAS series, so I'm taking a total shot in the dark
