20.8 status update (delay) and upcoming changes to map!
20.8 status update:
You're probably wondering why some of the progress stalled about 3 weeks ago and the reason is one of our devs (Posing) had to suddenly step away from the project. It unfortunately happened as we were wrapping up the content and had to halt the progress until we found replacement.
The good news is we tested new candidates and found 2 new devs who will be starting this week! Hopefully we can get the update back on track to wrap it up as soon as possible for you all to enjoy.
Art was done a little while back and writing will be done this week so we should be moving on to the following tech update in the meantime.
Sorry about this delay, I'm aware some of you are anxious to play the new content. :<

Map changes in tech update:
The image above shows what I've been working on during daily streams (for those who haven't watched). The tech update changes the game widescreen ratio which opens up room for additional locations on the minimap.
We've added:
Lighthouse
Bar
3 homes
Museum
Arcade and Bowling hall
Stadium
Expanded trailer park and forest area
In contrast with the very first minimap (0.01), things have changed a lot! Most locations were not even accessible .^-^

I opted to play 0.20.8 from the beginning, and am not seeing the new map - wondering if it and the new locations that it brings will show up with gameplay, or if they have been put off until another update.

He isn't getting paid per update but per month. I am ok with what I am paying. Also don't forget thst he doesn't see 100% of every dollar. I think it's more like .75 cents on the dollar. Or even less. So thst cuts the 77k a month to more like.. 55k. Month. Fair to say he is paying out 10k a month for a lead dev, then another 8k a month for an artist. Probably another 10k a month for an overseas software development team to stitch it all together. Probably bringing home around 27k a month. Claiming another 10k a month for business resources end result I'm guessing 17k a month in equivalent take home.. then he's paying a g a month for his medical and dental if he's lucky. Don't forget social security, state and federal taxes.. and so on. Net is probably a lot closer to 100k a year I bet.

Not exactly, based on the amount of developers and content creators he has assisting him, as well as software they use to design and develop everything you are looking at way more than just 20k a month for this games development... Especially if the team he has with him have degrees in graphics design or computer engineering, over all even if He lands a a team of developers all withing the 25th percentile of highest degreed developers that's an average of $6250 a month, per developer... Game development is a pretty high stakes job market at the moment... So for him to keep his team of developers happy and within his team he has to meet their pay grade requirements based upon the contracts they signed and agreed upon when they joined his team. If he can't pay them according to what their work is worth then he has a high risk if losing the developer to another creator or company seeking creators that give off a higher salary per month than he does... Remember when he talked about losing a developer ( one person) and the whole process halted for 3 weeks as the searched for a replacement, he ended up employing two people to replace that one developer... So I highly doubt he spends 20k alone on on both the software used, people employed and whatever else expenses are required for the development of the game... And let's just say he did for a moment... If he earned 70k a month... Used 20k on the game... And profited 50k a month... Over the past 5 months he has earned 250k in profits alone... Don't you think someone earning that would be more motivated to push for updates sooner than what we've been seeing... Especially if it's such a high paying career... Higher than the actual top earners monthly salary of $12,750 a month... So if he is profiting over 50k a month he is seriously up there on the developers list... I mean Annually top earners or the highest paid developers out there only earn around 150k a year... But he's profiting around 600k a year if he profits 50k a month...

Just want to point out the obvious here... I've been keeping track of his donations per month or whatever you want to call it, and day by day it averages between $68,000 and $71,000... Which means he both loses and gains supporters every week.... So for the few people I've seen down here in the comments going on about ending their support unless he releases the update by a given date or within a given amount of time... You do realize you are donating of your own free will... No one is compelling you to do so... There is literally no point is setting a time period for their update unless you are a key contributed to the content or development of the game itself... Game development runs into more issues during the final stages of an update, than it does anywhere else in it's development... If you haven't noticed the "bugs" increased from 7 to whatever it is now... And if you haven't been paying attention to the world itself... It should be pretty obvious to why development might be slow... Just saying... I don't want to cause any drama or anything but... it just ticks me off a little...
March is the last month I'm supporting. Ofcourse if DC releases the update the. I'll continue. It pretty bad when it has been a few months since the last update
Not whining, just pointing out that is useless and futile to complain at this point, DC isn't paying attention and those that are just keep saying, "stop whining". Besides March is the last month i am contributing until regular progress continues. Especially being that with this new "Tech" update all the art, every single piece, has to be edited and added onto for the widescreen format. Every single piece. So unless they release that update in stages it will most likely take close to a year for the following update after this. If progress gets back to how it was a few years ago ill come back and support it. Its a great game and i love it and i really would like to see it done.

Stop whining, no one is forced to donate DC money. You all donate voluntarily. If the progress of the game does not suit you, stop your donation and find other games. There are a lot of games on the internet
In all honesty I love this game. It has story and sex scenes with various different fetishes. It can literally suck you in and get you immersed but we all should just stop "donating" to DC since he is with holding updates to get another pay. If it is like that just add more content to extend development or make another game.
I'm pretty sure this page is treated like a youtube video and the creator doesn't read the comments. If he does its definitely in poor taste that he has not address all the concerns toward the ridiculous amount of money this page is making him and the extremely slow progress considering the amount of money that is donated each month....some people understand why so many of us are upset or disappointed in the lack of progress or transparency and the others haven't a clue and simply keep saying be patient cause even though DC is making 70k a month, its all from donations therefore its ok.

Somebody needs to learn how to be proactive instead of reactive. If you don't know the difference, that would explain a lot. Keep creating new characters, new locations and new wardrobes so it will never be finished as a game. That is how you milk more money.

The creators getting under 5k a month are at the getting donations level, creators making over 10k a month is straight up revenue. In the world of game and product development at this level of money we are investors with the only return is getting to play the game, once the game is done it will pop up on steam for $25 as a finished product...perspective..yeah, perspective...got it.
This is still a "free" game, these kinds of donations are only in support of DC, although yes there has been delays, we are DONATING to make it easier for DC to throw out the updates, in the end DC is still a human with his own life and own problems, if you are gonna complain about not getting your "moneys worth" on a DONATION then I recommend not being a patron, I'd prefer him not releasing an garbage product cause he has an outstanding issue. (not trying to be mean or anything just trying to throw out some perspective)
With the money he is being given i agree that his progress is quite slow. I get that hes doing the art work from scratch but being that he getting 700k a year either he needs to work more hours like this is his job or hire more people to work at it like its their job. if i dont see an update in the next week or so i am pulling my support. I encourage others to do so or at least drop down to $1. DC needs to realize that when you are making this type of money you need to be held accountable and should be transparent on what you are spending all this money on for supper slow progress. This isnt about waiting for fap material, this is about simple business. At nearly 70k a month in revenue your making small corporate level money and should be acting accordingly. I would love to see this game competed in its entirety plus some, but at this point it does feel like everyone is getting fleeced out of money.

yep... getting a bit disappointing... considering NLT's Treasure of Nadia - updates every two weeks, the renders are not cartoons but realistic beyond... even NLT's Lust Epidemic (one of the earlier games - was pretty good too and updated regularly). Sorry about DarkCookie's illnesses etc... but as been said for $70K+/month... seems a bit unrealistic... to not expect anything... I'll stay on for a bit more... seems 20.8 is close... but we'll see. All the VERY BEST!

I would love if we get to visit more characters at there homes, including the teachers homes. As well as more sex locations and positions for characters, Like the mall toilets, in the swimming pool, the apartments roof, the tattooing chair, etc.

Just imagine the road that leads up and the roads that exit on the main map could end up been able to traverse to other locations however that would mean a DLC or just too much work to even fathom. However there is so much in this little town for 1 guy... With that much knowledge he could almost conquer the world...

Glad you found new devs. Game has come a long way since then, and keeps getting better.
